It's more commonly seen in but by no means confined to romantic relationships. The term demisexual comes from the orientation being "halfway between" sexual and asexual. Nevertheless, this term does not mean that demisexuals have an incomplete or half-sexuality, nor does it mean that sexual attraction without emotional connection is required for a complete sexuality. In general, demisexuals are not sexually attracted to anyone of any gender; however, when a demisexual is emotionally connected to someone else (whether the feelings are romantic love or deep friendship), the demisexual experiences sexual attraction and desire, but only towards the specific partner or partners. When describing demisexuality as an orientation to sexuals, sexuals often mistake it as an admirable choice rather than an innate orientation. Demisexuals are not choosing to abstain; they simply lack sexual attraction until a close relationship is formed. Intersex Intersex, in humans and other animals, is the presence of intermediate or atypical combinations of physical features that usually distinguish female from male. This is usually understood to be congenital, involving chromosomal, morphologic, genital and/or gonadal anomalies, such as diversion from typical XX-female or XY-male presentations, e.g., sex reversal (XY-female, XX-male), genital ambiguity, or sex developmental differences. An intersex individual may have biological characteristics of both the male and the female sexes.[1] Intersexuality as a term was adopted by medicine during the 20th century, and applied to human beings whose biological sex cannot be classified as clearly male or female.[2][3][4] Intersex was initially adopted by intersex activists who criticize traditional medical approaches to sex assignment and seek to be heard in the construction of new approaches.[5][6] androgynous |anˈdräjənəs| adjective partly male and partly female in appearance; of indeterminate sex. • having the physical characteristics of both sexes; hermaphrodite. Pomosexual, or undefined sexual orientation, is a neologism used to describe a person who shuns sexual orientation labels (such as heterosexual and homosexual), and in turn chooses not to label oneself with a sexual orientation. It is not to be confused with asexuality which is a sexual orientation used to describe an individual who does not experience sexual attraction. Pomosexuality is formed by adding the prefix pomo- (shorthand for postmodern) to the adjective sexual, and is used in reference to oneself as a protest against such labels. The term is sometimes used to describe a broad continuum of sexual orientation between heterosexuality and bisexuality.[1] The terms heteroflexible and homoflexible are also applied to bi-curiosity, though some authors distinguish heteroflexibility as lacking the "wish to experiment with ... sexuality" implied by the bi-curious label.[2] Hypersexual = A person who experiences and extremely/abnormally high sex drive. (A term but not an orientation) parasexual Means same as 'paraphiliac' except frames it as an orientation rather than a mental disorder. paraphilia |ˌparəˈfilēə| noun Psychiatry a condition characterized by abnormal sexual desires, typically involving extreme or dangerous activities. DERIVATIVES paraphiliac |-ˈfilēˌak| adjective & noun Polysexual - "Polysexuality refers to people who are attracted to more than one gender or sex but do not wish to identify as bisexual because it implies that there are only two binary genders or sexes. Polysexuals are those people sexually attracted to many different sorts of ideas and characteristics. Polysexuality should not be confused with pansexuality; pan meaning all, and poly meaning many, though not necessarily all." Polyamory - people who like to engage in more than one relationship at a time. Autosexuality - I'm a little unclear on whather this refers to someone who only engages in sexual activities with themselves or if it's the ultimate in narcissism Trysexual - they'll try anything once Polysexuals are attracted to more than two genders, but can still not be attracted to certain genders, Pansexuals are just attracted to people of any gender, and gender isn't significant to them. I have a friend who most would call pansexual, but she calls it "omnisexual." Which I think makes sense. Due to the way she described her attraction to any and all genders (her "type" just has to be a) emotionally compatible with her and b) interested in her), I have some suspicions that she might actually be a panromantic demisexual, but who am I to judge? hyposexual: similar to gray-a-sexual to define a sexual with a low, periodically absent sex drive. Antisexuality Antisexuality is when a person thinks sex is always bad. [change] Reasons Different people have different reasons for being antisexual. Here are some reasons. ▪ ▪ ▪ ▪ ▪ ▪ ▪ ▪ ▪ ▪ Sexuality can make friendships harder. (Sometimes people dislike other people because they are sexually attracted to the same person). Sex may stop a person from developing spiritually. Sexual desire can make people act with primitive instinct instead of using their intelligence (people in the world continue to have unsafe casual sex even though they know about the dangers of diseases caught from sex, as an example). Sexuality happens by releasing chemicals in the brain which are like drugs. Sexual desire can cause people to lie and cheat so they can try and get sex. Sexuality can lead to people being mean to each other, because some people will think certain sexualities are wrong. Sexual desires could be untrue feelings that society gives you, which is why you may look at how your sexuality is ideally made and made by society. Sexuality makes no sense because it is too complicated for what it is supposed to do; with the variety of orientations, kinks, fetishes, and especially dangerous things, like sadism, polygamy, and unsafe sex, make human sexuality seem too strange to be useful. People who disagree 'lookism' (being prejudice about someone because of the way they look), as well as some supporters of 'fat acceptance', say that sexuality makes people discriminate against people who are said to be unattractive. Some antisexualists do not think there is a difference between consent (chosen sex) and coercion (unchosen sex rape), and see sex as a way of oppression. Transsexual is usually someone who has or wants to physically change into the gender and/or sex they feel like. Transgender encompasses transsexuals, but also includes transvestites, genderqueers, and all of that.
