Learning objectives:
Understand the social and cultural context of sexual abuse.
Effectively work with youth at risk using a strength based approach
Risk management and facilitating risk reduction complete initial safety plans
Motivate youth and reduce their resistance to change
How to respond to adolescent sexual offending behavior
Develop safety plans
Teach self-intervention techniques to youth and family members
Formulate and conduct a comprehensive evaluation who have sexually offended.
Develop social support networks throughout the community
Work holistically with youth who have sexually harmed
Develop personal needs for self-care when working with this population
Date: September 13-18, 2015 (5 ½ day training)
Location: Winston-Salem, Forsyth County (Venue TBA)
Cost: $1,100 (Includes all textbooks and materials)
There is a $250 deposit due by June 15, 2015
Deadline: Tuition is due in full by August 10, 2015
Continued Education: Best Practices for Addressing Sexual Harm is an academic certificate
program. Continued education hours will be earned through Northwest Area Health
Education Center (AHEC).
