POST HOLDER RESPONSIBLE TO: Head of School
PURPOSE OF POST:
(Summary of Job Dimensions)
The post holder will be required to be a team member in the delivery, development
and quality assurance of the school’s programmes and will also contribute to the
overall development of the work of the school.
The post holder will also be required to have course leadership responsibilities and
will be required to teach and assess across a wide range of business courses within
the school. Courses include:BTEC First and National Diplomas in Business
Certificate in Marketing
Foundation Degree in Business Management
Foundation Degree in Business and Marketing
BA (Hons) Business Management
Key/Functional Skills in Communications, ICT and Application of Number
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Deliver a variety of subjects across a range of programmes within the school
and with partners including the 14-19 and HE curriculum.
Work as a course leader and member of the school teaching team in the
development of new courses as well as the expansion of existing provision.
Play an active part in the selection, induction, pastoral care and progression
of students.
Maintain class registers, course log books, tracking documentation and other
records both paper-based and online. Provide information returns, reports
and documentation as required.
Liaise with partners including employers to develop and manage the
curriculum.
Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, assessment schedules and learning
materials to the high standards required by the college and awarding bodies.
Set, mark and record learners’ work including assignments, examinations,
placement reviews and coursework assessments.
Assist in the marketing of programmes to ensure target recruitment is
achieved and be involved in general promotion activities as required.
Develop own skills and expertise within teaching and maintain and develop
course material for the subjects you are responsible for. Share good practice
with other members of staff in the school.
Undertake continuing professional development and staff development
activities to keep up-to-date with the above activities and to meet the strategic
priorities of the college.

PGCE/Certificate in Education (candidates

graduate qualification in a related discipline.
Knowledge of current developments in business

Knowledge of new 14-19 Agenda – Business,
Administration and Finance Diplomas
Key Skills/Functional Skills
Marketing and/or Enterprise specialist

Ability to adapt and develop the curriculum in

Flexible working week that may include Saturdays and up
to 2 evenings per week.
Off site teaching, learning and assessment. Ability to travel
to LA schools and employers to attend meetings.
