Alan Eisner, Ph.D. is Department Chair of Management and Management Science Department and Professor of Management at Pace University. He received his Ph.D. from the Management Department, Stern School of Business, New York University. Alan has a B.S. in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering and a M.Eng. in Engineering Management, both from Cornell University. Before embarking on his doctorate he was an advanced technology engineer for United Technologies. His primary research interests are organizational learning, business and technology strategies, and entrepreneurship. He teaches courses in undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral courses in entrepreneurship, managerial decisionmaking, organizational theory, and strategic management. He has published in the International Journal of Electronic Commerce, Advances in Strategic Management, Journal of Financial Service Professionals, International Journal of Technology Management, American Business Review, The Valuation Examiner, Journal of the Academy of Strategic Management, Journal of Behavioral and Applied Management, and Journal of the International Academy for Case Studies. The 6th edition of Dess, Lumpkin, & Eisner's Strategic Management textbook was published by McGraw-Hill/Irwin in September of 2011. Eisner was Associate Editor of the Case Association's new peer reviewed journal The CASE Journal (www.caseweb.org) from 2004-2009. Eisner was the founding Director Internet Communications for the Academy of Management. Charged with the design and construction of a central Internet presence for the Academy of Management.
