Job description Job title: Resourcing Coordinator Reporting to: Head of Crisis Christmas Department: Crisis Christmas Date: Aug 2010 – Feb 2011 Aim The Resourcing Executive role will manage the resourcing programme for Crisis Christmas which attracts gifts-in-kind from companies, PR agencies, community groups and individuals; and to build relationships with donors. The aim is secure resources so that the CC team can set up temporary centres at Christmas offering food and shelter and provide a gateway of services at minimal cost to Crisis. Dimension Working within the Crisis Christmas team, you will be responsible for: o Managing Crisis Christmas gifts-in-kind programme (value approximately £0.4m per annum) o Developing relationships with corporate donors and also community groups and individuals supporters o Overseeing interns, volunteers or temporary staff members Salary £30,000 pa (Pro-rata) Organisational chart Principle Accountabilities Work with the CC team and Services Heads to develop wish-lists of items that need to be resourced for each service and for the set up of centres including food, medical provisions, building supplies and learning & skills materials Develop a strategy and plan that attracts resources as gifts-in-kind that have been identified from the CC wish-lists Liaise with the Community Fundraising Team and other fundraising teams to develop a plan for soliciting gift-in-kind donations from other donor groups Create and conduct appeals for resources including appeal mailings, pitches, presentations, volunteer newsletters and website content Work with the Crisis Communications Team to develop a PR plan for the gift in kind programme and to develop mutually beneficially PR activities with donors Account manage relationships with existing donors and maintain their involvement with CC Research, identify, cold-call and present pitches to prospective donors and cultivate longterm relationships with them Manage community gift-in-kind donations from schools, religious groups, individuals and office collections which includes producing and communicating a ‘wish list’ of items, establishing drop-off points, arranging collections of goods and thanking donors Organise the sponsorship of guests’ goody-bags and the resourcing of their contents; work with the Building & Logistics Manager to organise the packing of them Develop relationships with grocery retailers local to CC centres for donation of store vouchers and unwanted food Maintain data on donors, pledges, gifts and collection/delivery details on Raiser’s Edge Measure progress against targets, identify any shortfalls in resources and report back to CC team Work with the Building & Logistics Manager to coordinate the cost-effective collection and delivery of gifts from donors, particularly the delivery, storage and logistical arrangements for food and catering supplies Work with the Building & Logistic Manager to monitor and evaluate all donated goods to ensure a quality standard, reduce waste costs and minimise the environmental impact of disposing of supplies Produce project update newsletter, thank all donors in a timely manner and contribute to the content of Crisis Annual Impact Report Calculate the value of donated gifts for the annual audit and provide report for the finance team Work with the building & Logistics Manager to co-ordinate the return of loaned equipment and the redistribution of unwanted and excess resources after CC Work with the Corporate Partnership Team to identify relationships with CC corporate donors that may be developed strategically into long-term partnerships with Crisis Support the overall work of the CC team, taking part in meetings and tasks as necessary Manage interns, volunteers and temporary staff as necessary General To develop and maintain an understanding of the charity’s work and the needs and circumstances of homeless people To comply with Crisis policies and procedures, including Health and Safety policies, for which all employees owe a duty of care both to themselves and others, in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act To carry out any other duties that may reasonably be required in the light of the main purpose of the job. Person Specification Essential skills, knowledge and experience Generating funds or sales from the corporate sector within a fundraising or sales environment Developing new business opportunities within the corporate sector, including negotiating and influencing decision makers at all levels Account managing and building strong relationship with corporate donors Managing projects against milestones and deadlines Skills & Abilities Well organised, ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, results orientated Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong customer service and donor stewardship skills Ability to work on own initiative and also as part of a team Good working knowledge of Microsoft office suite and Raiser’s Edge Fundraising Database Demonstrable commitment to the mission, vision and values of Crisis Special Requirements Able to work unsociable hours including over the Christmas period from 22 to 31 December The ideal candidate will not have holidays commitments during the length of the contract.
