Have students in each group prepare a presentation after researching potential hazards for each group. Have students group into 3-4 groups to choose different departments of the hotel property. Have students list the equipment in each department. Each student will then choose a piece of equipment to research usage and present to the class. Give students a list of chemicals and cleaning supplies (detergents, brighteners, alkalines, mildewcides, sours, fabric softeners, starches synthetic detergents, soap, antichors) in a lodging properties. Have students research proper handling and risk for each item on the list. Have students research the internet for possible hazards of housekeeping staff in the lodging property.
