Only 16-18 students per session. 6 weeks, 3 hours a day, 5 days a week. June 22 –
August 2, 2014 at either Cornell University in New York (Music, Dance & Light, or
Race and the Limits of Law in America) or the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor
(Modernism through Modern Art and Theatre, or Identity and Belonging from
Primates to Posthumans). Extensive discussion, public speaking, writing and more.
This is a very intense academic and intellectual experience. Application includes
ESSAYS but NO transcript is required. Semifinalists are interviewed. All expenses
paid EXCEPT for transportation to the host college. However, students with financial
need may request financial aid to cover reasonable transportation costs. In addition,
they may get a $500 stipend to replace summer earnings lost while at the Seminar.
