Poetry Portfolio
Due April 4 & 5
Over the next couple of weeks we will be studying poetry,
and you will be writing your own poems and compiling them in a
portfolio which will be worth a test grade. You should work on
this portfolio over the course of the unit and write your poems
the night I assign them for homework.
After you have written all your poems you will print them
and organize them in a folder. In addition to your poems, your
portfolio will include a personal reflection of your work, the effort
your put into the project, as well as any additional information
that could accent your poetry.
Pay attention to the rubric. Good luck and have fun.
*I will choose the best poems to enter a contest to be
published in a poetry book.

You will be graded on completion, clarity of thought/organization, and correct grammar and
usage, as well as, using vivid language and correct poetic formats.
* Optional presentation (10 bonus points): Memorize, introduce, and recite an approved poem
on April 4th or 5th.
