Objective: Students will create a legend, myth, or folktale featuring one of the ORIGINAL (12) Native
American tribes in Texas using information from the textbook and examples from Native American
Tales and Legends edited by Allan A. Macfarlan.

Requirements:
Story will follow a known fairy tale or Greek Myth
Project will be changed to include the aspects of a Native Texas tribe’s culture (religion,
education, commerce, type of home, diet, location, etc.) PEGS and MR. HeLP
Project must be neat and written text must be in ink (minimum of 4 pages front and back handwritten or 2 pages typed - 12 font/double spaced)
Cover page must include hand-drawn pictures, name, period, and date
Rubric must be stapled as the LAST page
