Genetic Disorders
For the genetics unit you will choose a genetic disorder to research and give an
informational presentation. You will be required to create a poster and an informative
pamphlet on the genetic disorder. Each group has to choose a unique topic. You can
pick one of the following topics or choose your own, but you must clear the topic with
the teacher first.

Criteria
1. Pamphlet – You will need to create a tri-fold pamphlet containing
information about your topic. Be sure to include things like symptoms,
causes, images, other information/facts and a summary.
2. Poster – A visual aid created on poster board that will be used to enhance
your oral presentation. The poster must contain images and text. Do not
copy all of your information onto the poster and present from it, use it as
an aid.
3. Oral Presentation – You will be giving a 4-6 minute informative
presentation on your genetic disorder. Make sure to present the
symptoms, causes, and other information of the disorder. You will also
need to be prepared for a question and answer after the presentation. At
least three questions will need to be answered appropriately.
