Military Time:
The French use military time. 13 o’clock, 17 o’clock, 23 hours,
etc. To determine the time in military – for all PM’s add 12 to the
time.
3 PM
= 12 +3 - - 15 heures
8 PM
= 12 +8 - - 20 heures

While o’clock can be left out in english – HEURE(s) must be
used in French.
Sometimes to distinguish between AM and PM the French use the
following:
Du matin
De l’après-midi
Du soir
in the morning
in the afternoon
at night
À quelle heure est le concert?
What time is the concert?
Le concert est à huit heures quart The concert is at 8 :15
