Mr. Novak’s United States History Class Unit 2A The American Revolution In this unit, students will review the events leading up the American Revolution and examine the causes and initial consequences of the American Revolution. The course begins with a review of colonial America, an examination of the development of the American slave system, and a discussion of the uneasy relationship that developed between the colonies and the British crown after the French and Indian War. The students will trace the immediate causes of the Revolutionary War and the colonies’ declaration of independence from Great Britain. Students will also analyze how the events of the American Revolution helped form the American identity.
