SOC 279 – Final exam review sheet

The final exam will consist of two sections:
1) Key terms. Briefly define 10 out of 15 terms selected from the list below (two to three sentences
should suffice for most terms). Each item will be worth 6 points, for a total of 60 points.
2) Short responses. Choose 4 out of 8 questions and answer them in a paragraph. Of the 8
questions, 6 will cover text items, two multimedia. Each item will be worth 10 points, for a total
of 40 points. (All questions will specify the relevant author/title, so you do not have to worry
about memorizing author names and matching them with course material.)
The exam will cover the following key terms (IN SMALL-CAP ITALICS) and the key arguments (i.e., those
discussed in class and/or highlighted in the lecture slides) of the material below:
