TRUE ENTERTAINMENT | FLYOVER FASHION 1 New York, Paris, and Milan are facing some competition from an unlikely place— the heartland of America! FLYOVER FASHION FLYOVER FASHION is a new high-octane series about the hectic world of fashion in the least likely of places— Kansas City. Matt and Emily Baldwin are talented, fashionable, and driven. In the last couple of years they’ve opened a boutique store, launched a modeling agency, started a clothing line and are working on a fashion magazine but despite all the obstacles, they’ve chosen to build their fashion empire in the center of the country… the Midwest… the flyover states. Can they compete against the Meccas of couture and bring corn-fed fashion to the world? Tune in and find out! Kansas City doesn’t seem like a dream destination for a pair of fashion moguls, but Emily and Matt Baldwin weren’t going to raise their kids on the snobby East or plastic West coast. Determined to stick to their Midwest roots, they traded life in LA for Kansas and began their business here. THE SHOW Each 60-minute episode of Flyover Fashion will follow an adventure in Matt and Emily’s fastpaced business and personal worlds. They may be casting models for their latest high-profile event, setting up their denim line at Fred Segal’s, or trying to keep their business conflicts out of the bedroom. We will follow their talented, quirky staff, and endless flow of colorful clients, designers, buyers and models on and off the runway. Will Britt Koth successfully groom other Kansas girls into international runway superstars? Will this heartland empire succeed in becoming a voice in world fashion? Or will Matt’s chip-onhis-Midwest-shoulder piss off buyers in NY and LA as they launch new collections? 601 West 26th St., Suite 1336 New York, NY 10001 p. 212-763-3600 f. 212-763-3700 9255 Sunset Blvd., 11th Floor Los Angeles, CA 90069 p. 310-860-9914 f. 310-270-4197 TRUE ENTERTAINMENT | FLYOVER FASHION 2 The series will follow Matt and Emily as they navigate their marriage, birth of their 3rd child and their execution of fashion week Kansas City –style! There is always a power struggle for creative control when they are stocking their stores. In addition, they have to manage their employees and keep the stores running smoothly. Standard Artists Agency This new business discovers, trains, and represents models for commercial, editorial, and fashion work. Britt, a former model, runs the business but struggles with jealousy while interacting with the younger models. She has a hard time keeping girls at the agency when they all have aspirations to live and work in New York or Paris. 601 West 26th St., Suite 1336 New York, NY 10001 p. 212-763-3600 f. 212-763-3700 9255 Sunset Blvd., 11th Floor Los Angeles, CA 90069 p. 310-860-9914 f. 310-270-4197 TRUE ENTERTAINMENT | FLYOVER FASHION 3 Baldwin Denim Matt’s new jeans line has all kinds of pressure. He just moved manufacturing from Los Angeles to Kansas City, where he will have to hire all new help to make the operation run smoothly. He is also under the gun to get the denim line into stores. Emily is obsessed with planning the rooftop launch party for the line. Fashion Magazine Emily is editor-in-chief of the Standard magazine, which highlights items in their boutiques as well as giving fashion tips and advice. There is no shortage of drama with the photo shoots, casting the models, and selecting which pieces will make it in the magazine. Standard Creative As if there’s not enough on Matt and Emily’s plate, they also run a retail advertising and consulting agency. Their client list keeps growing and this Fall they will be launching a huge campaign for Great Lengths hair extensions of Kate Gosselin fame. THE FAMILY Matt and Emily’s home life is another source of drama and fun. They have a 4-year-old, 2year-old, and a newborn baby. Matt is the creative visionary behind Baldwin Denim, his jean line. He is driven, competitive and demanding. Matt's meticulous nature lends itself well to managing the books, but his super cheap mindset drives Emily crazy! Ultimately, Matt knows he and his business are the providers for their family, so he doesn't care. Matt is career-obsessed and does not want any more children!! He will be having a vasectomy ASAP. Emily Baldwin Emily is an all-American beauty who juggles her 2 children (and one on the way) with a flourishing career in the fashion industry. Emily is the Standard Style lead stylist, marketing and event guru, and is a stickler for details. She is conflicted about how to be friends and employers at the same time, but is clear that she is the boss and wants things done the right way (her way)! She worries that sometimes she and Matt just need to forget the business and focus on each other. 601 West 26th St., Suite 1336 New York, NY 10001 p. 212-763-3600 f. 212-763-3700 9255 Sunset Blvd., 11th Floor Los Angeles, CA 90069 p. 310-860-9914 f. 310-270-4197 TRUE ENTERTAINMENT | FLYOVER FASHION 5 Britt Koth After a taste of fame on MTVs 8th and Ocean, Britt returned to her Kansas Roots. Britt’s Conservative values didn’t bode well in the fastpaced Miami lifestyle. She is now manager of the Standard Modeling Agency. As she comes to terms with “aging out” of modeling at 24, she is embracing her new role as talent developer. She’s searching for fresh faces she can mold into fierce talent. Will her narcissism get in the way of her letting new talent shine? Kristen Couslon Kristen wears many hats at Standard, from social coordinator, to PR rep, to model, to trusted friend. She is Matt and Emily’s “go to girl” and frequently mediates sticky staff situations. While she appears intensely loyal, she most likely would jump ship for a better opportunity. She has aspirations to leave Kansas and is hoping that Baldwin will give her the necessary training so she can leave the Midwest behind. Ryan Strong Ryan is an exceptionally talented fashion photographer who comes from one of the smallest farm towns in Kansas. He has big dreams, with sights set on Vogue, but Emily and Matt hope to keep their small town gem for themselves for as long as possible! Ryan’s creativity and nerves are pushed to their limit as he has full responsibility for the fashion catalog, advertising campaigns and merchandising displays. 601 West 26th St., Suite 1336 New York, NY 10001 p. 212-763-3600 f. 212-763-3700 9255 Sunset Blvd., 11th Floor Los Angeles, CA 90069 p. 310-860-9914 f. 310-270-4197 TRUE ENTERTAINMENT | FLYOVER FASHION 6 Joni Johnson As the manager of Standard Style for the past 6 years, Joni is getting antsy, and wants to move up in the company. Because she knows the products better than anyone, Matt and Emily hesitate to move her out. Joni is aggressive and has physically chased down numerous thieves and isn’t afraid to confront wayward shoppers. Rachel Rachel is the Baldwin’s Nanny and she feels more like a mom to the 2 boys than anything else. She is overwhelmed by her duties, but stays because she has developed a strong love for the boys. She’s worried she won’t be able to handle the workload when the new baby arrives and fears she might have to leave the Baldwin’s. 601 West 26th St., Suite 1336 New York, NY 10001 p. 212-763-3600 f. 212-763-3700 9255 Sunset Blvd., 11th Floor Los Angeles, CA 90069 p. 310-860-9914 f. 310-270-4197
