Superhero I. Introduction 1. Classic argument (of youth at least): Who is the ultimate superhero? 2. Modern movies: highest grossing films of past decade have been superhero films (Batman, X-Men, SpiderMan, Daredevil, Hulk, Fantastic Four – And Now Superman!). Society is looking for a superhero! 3. What does it take to be considered a superhero? Jesus is the Mold of all Superhero’s. II. Attributes of Super Heroes – General and Personal A. General Attributes 1. Signs – Batman (bat in sky), Superman (S), The Cross 2. Alter-ego (Superman – Clark Kent, Spiderman – Peter Parker, Batman – Bruce Wayne, Robin – Dick Grayson, Flash – Barry Allen, Iron Man – Tony Stark) Phil. 2:5-8 - Jesus took the form of a bondservant. But He revealed his identity ... so also do heroes to those they love and Jesus loves everyone. 3. Arch Enemy (Joker, Lex Luthor) Classic enemy wants people hurt or wants their possessions (money). Power over death - 1 Cor. 15:26 - last enemy that will be destroyed is death. 6. Fortitude - Strength of mind that allows one to endure pain or adversity with courage. Justice - The upholding of what is just, especially fair treatment and due reward in accordance with honor, standards, or law. Who is the ultimate superhero? - Jesus Christ, who has the power to save our soul! Comic Companies did an excellent job in promoting their heroes, we need to be to promote Ours. 3. Christ is the only superhero that is REAL AND ALIVE and can save you from eternal punishment.
