Monkeyshines on Ancient Cultures, Discovering America, Events of the Middle Ages, and the Our
States series. Includes an Encyclopedia of Animals database.
NoveList K-8—A fiction readers' advisory tool that includes tools for finding read-alikes; lists of
books in series; lists o award-winning books; and lists of books on certain topics, geographic areas,
or periods of time.
SIRS Discoverer—Search for magazine and newspaper articles. Features include “Country Facts”
for essential information on each nation’s government structure, biographies, learning activities,
maps, and a special section for help with research papers.

ERIC (Educational Resources Information Center)—Index, abstracts, and some full text of articles,
books, and documents covering education research and practice.
Professional Development Collection—provides full-text articles from nearly 550 high quality
education journals, including more than 350 peer-reviewed titles. This database also contains more
than 200 educational reports.

Images
Digital Library of Georgia—Images relating to Georgia’s history and culture can be found in many
databases, including Vanishing Georgia, Barnard’s Photographic Views of the Sherman Campaign,
various historical diaries, and other resources.
New Georgia Encyclopedia—The encyclopedia includes images on Georgia’s history, places,
people, arts, and more. The NGE includes video and audio clips that are viewable through the
QuickTime plug-in.
Several subscription databases include image collections. Under fair use guidelines, images may
be used for educational projects and papers that will not be published. Databases with image
