ALL PROJECTS include a short presentation to the class. 1. Scrapbook: Make a 4 page scrapbook of your chosen topic: TOPICS An African country A slave port Food/culture of an African country or area Natural resources found in Africa Scrapbook MUST include: Cover page Pictures with captions Information about one of the topics above Bibliography of resources used 2. Poster: Create a poster about one of the major types of slavery that is still happening today. Include information and pictures about: where this is occurring, the people that are being kept as slaves the people that are controlling the slaves what is being done to end this slavery Bibliography of resources used 3. Diorama of Africa: Create a diorama of an area of Africa include animals, plants and important scenery of your African location Include a one page written description of the area of Africa that you chose Bibliography of resources used 4. Two Journal Entries: Two journal entries, EACH two pages long TYPED and double spaced (4 pages total) describe what is was like to be a slave being shipped from one of the ports in Africa to a foreign land using information from the sites above describe what it is like being a slave today using information from the sites above Cover page AND bibliography of resources used 5. Brochure: Pretend that you work for a charity foundation and create a brochure about one type of slavery that is still going on today and how people can work together to try and put an end to it. Brochure can be made using Microsoft Publisher or by hand but must have all written text typed.
