RESEARCH INTERESTS
I am broadly interested in the physiological and hormonal mechanisms that modulate phenotypic
plasticity. Specifically, my research focuses on the immediate and sustained effects of the
developmental environment on phenotype and fitness using birds as a model system.

MENTORSHIP
I have mentored three undergraduates at the University of Montana through the Howard Hughes
Medical Institute (HHMI) funded Montana Integrated Learning Experiences for Students (MILES).
One of these students was a first generation college student and two were women. My collaborations
with these students have resulted in one co-authored publication and five student presentations
(including three at national meetings).
