Project #2 Sport Drink / Energy Drink w/ Prototype Now that you have done research on sport drinks and energy drinks and have a better understanding of what they are you will now create your own new drink creation. First, decide whether you want to enter the sport drink or energy drink market. These markets are different but each is very competitive. How can you set yourself apart? You can not expect to go head to head with Red Bull or Gatorade. What makes you different and/or better than the competition? Who is your target market? What is your competitive advantage? You also are to create a prototype of your drink. Your packaging and even size and type of container makes a difference in your marketing and pricing. Plan, plan, plan. DUE: Write Up & prototype by end of class Thurs. 5/24 Sales Presentations w/ elevator pitch on Fri. 5/25 (500 pts. altogether) Type a one page paper of 5 paragraphs (NOT a memo!!!!!) Paragraph #1 Introduction, describe your product in detail, what is it? Taste? Ingredients? Look of packaging, what makes it so different/special? etc. If I could not see your prototype this description should be rich enough to give us the idea. Paragraph #2 Describe your target market in detail (like consumer profile) and why them Paragraph #3 What is your pricing strategy and why (based on what??) Paragraph #4 Where will your product be placed? Specific stores, venues, geographically located? Paragraph #5 How will you promote your drink? At least 4 ways, describe each in detail and why these are the 4 best ways Present your project & prototype in front of the class on Fri. 5/25 w/ an elevator pitch. No more than 3 minutes. You will NOT be allowed to hold your paper while you present. Practice what you will say and know your product well. This is part of your grade.
