During the summer The Vacation Bible School (VBS) at Mt Traveler this year was May 26-29, 2009 under the great directorship of Sister Mary Ann Webb with assistance from Sister Diane Rufus. It was a blessed, fun and entertaining but learning time. The key lesson was about what you do at your “moments of Truth” or decisive moments when you challenged to stand up for God! The children and the ‘children in the adults’ had a months we realize a drop in our giving because of vacations but we encourage you to be consistent in your worship in giving. Your faithfulness in giving will help us a long way to resolve some of the inherent problems with our present structure where we worship – to fix it and keep it clean. Remember fatherhood is a great responsibility. I admonish you to be a father to your child or children. Love them and train them in the way they should go such that when they are old they will not depart from it. Lead them by example for fathers are God appointed leaders in every home. You are leaders not bosses! So, I say “Happy Father’s Page 1 dition has caused them allergic reactions. At the same time we appreciate all the Leadership Team for their great efforts to rectify the condition. As of writing this, the repairs on roof of the church have been completed. Sisters Rodnesha, Phoebe and Renee as well as brother Teyei concluded this class on today, June 21, 2009. Congratulations to these brethren! The outreach evangelism outings into our community continue each first and third Saturdays of each month, except when conflicts do not allow. During the off Saturdays of outings, follow-ups do take place. Plan to participate in either the evangelism outings or the follow-up. This is why all Mt Traveler members must engage themselves in this process of Church growth so that the Church will grow healthily. We need people to pray, make phone calls, write letters, make 2 visits, disciple individuals, etc to keep a continuous contact and build redemptive relationships with prospects. Finally, continue to pray regularly one for another that our Church will grow healthily and stronger with genuine love; passion for the kingdom of God; and compassion towards mankind as Mt Traveler rides this wave of ministering the Jesus way. Pray for the bereaved, the sick and shut-in and all the various needs of our membership. Also, pray for my good health and that God through the Holy Spirit will lead me in His paths to be the kind of shepherd He desires. I love you and I am praying for you too. Remain blessed. In His service, Rev. B. C. Datiri, PhD Pastor CONGRATULATIONS to our Graduates! May God bless and keep you as you press on toward other significant achievements in the years ahead. Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom; and with all thy getting get understanding. Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church celebrates Family and Friends Day, Sunday, June 28, 2009 at 2:00 PM with Rev. M. A. Moss and the Reeltown Baptist Church as the guest. Mt. Traveler - Sis. Mary Trimble is invited. Recently, I was at a meeting when an older woman arrived late. Since the seats were all taken by the time she arrived, she walked to the back of the room and took a place with the others who were standing. Although I knew the meeting was expected to last about an hour, I offered her my chair anyway and when she accepted my offer, I knew I was in for a long meeting. But, I also knew that she needed the chair more than I did, and that my offer was a small but meaningful way to let her know that she mattered; and, as it turned out, it really made my day to give her my chair. This was only a minor act of kindness, but one which we have the opportunity to do almost every day. How easy it is to hold the door for someone, or to share our lunch, or let someone in front of us in line. And, the great value of these little gestures is that they let others know that they are being noticed and valued. Even though most of us will never be called to martyrdom for acts of great heroism or sacrifice, we can all still perform small acts of kindness each and every day. A friendly smile or a cheery hello can be an act of kindness, and one which will usually be returned in kind. Be kindly affectionate one another with brotherly love: in honor preferring one another. Traveler and locally. This month’s Sports section is a very special one, we will focus on the upcoming events that many of our youth can participate in this summer with the recreational ministry. These events have been planned and organized for everyone to participate in, learn from, and have fun doing. But, we do not want to just single out the kids, anyone who wants to participate in the recreational ministry is welcome to do so. We also encourage you to invite your friends, or family to come and join us. During this summer the recreational ministry will open the Track and Field door for our youth to have “more than enough” activities to participate in. I encourage all of our youth and any volunteers who want to participate to do so. Also you can expect the sports editor to be live on the scene, interviewing, taking pictures, and having a good time. We also give a big Thanks to Recreational Leaders Bro Chris and Sis Kim Johns for their dedication and planning of these summer activities for our youth. We are honored to dedicate this sports section to the recreational ministry. Please Plan to be present Baseballand to fellowship with the recreational ministry. See you there!
