Nursing PDA Initial Setup Instructions for the Tungsten E2
Charge your handheld for three hours. Be sure your handheld is fully charged before
going on to the next step.
Set up
1. Press the power button on the top of the device.
2. Slide the stylus out of the slot.
3. Hold the stylus as you would a pen, and follow the onscreen instructions to set up
your handheld.
After you set up your handheld, you will be prompted to go through the Quick Tour
application on your handheld. You can do this now, or select done and continue below.
Install Palm Desktop software on your computer
Palm Desktop lets you enter appointments, addresses, and other information on your
desktop computer. Then you can transfer the information to your handheld using the
HotSync process. It's the fastest way to enter lots of information.
Windows:
1. Put the CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive.
2. Follow the installation instructions that appear on your computer screen.
Mac OS X:
1. Put the CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive.
2. Double-click the Palm CD icon on your desktop.
3. Double-click the PalmSoftware.pkg icon.
Connect Handheld to the Computer
Connect the HotSync cable to your handheld and USB port to the computer
**Now synchronize your handheld device with your computer (click the Hot Sync
button)
Installing Skyscape products on to the PDA from the SD card
Initially you have to create an account with skyscape by going to www.skyscape.com
where you have to enter a valid email id and some contact information.
1. Insert your SD Memory Card into the slot in the PDA.
2. Insert enclosed CD (Skyscape Memory Card Registration Software) into
computer’s CD-ROM drive.
3. Screen 1: Click on Install Product
a. Screen 2:
i. Step 1: Choose device type that you have: Pocket PC or Palm
ii. Step 2: Select Skyscape Registration and smARTupdate
b. Install process and enter the email and password used to create account
with skyscape.
c. When prompted for serial number enter the serial number which is present
on the white envelop (PDA)
Troubleshooting: If you can’t find the skyscape icons on your PDA after registering the
software just remove the SD card and reinsert.
Installing the software to your Desktop
1. Insert the CD (Desktop Version) into your computer’s CD-ROM drive.
2. Select the products to be installed and follow setup instructions and enter the
serial number which is present on the white envelope (Desktop)
