3/1/2015 Mobile and Handheld Devices in Classroom Project Scope Version 2.0 Team 11 Gangwal, Onil Ravindran, Prajesh Samuel, Roshni Yu, Yuanyuan Mobile and Handheld Devices in Classroom Project Scope Project Objectives The project aims to provide integrated educational solution in educational classrooms using mobile and handheld devices. It will leverage the advancements in technology and omnipresence of mobile devices to use them as an additional educational tool. The project will enable the creation of a secure and private network for the classroom. All the handheld devices can connect to this network and it will act as a virtual classroom. Product Requirements A virtual classroom can be created by a class tutor and will act as owner of the classroom. Mobile devices can be added to class room in two ways. First, the owner can manually add any device on basis of email address. Second, anyone can request access to the class which has to be approved by the owner. The owner would also have the ability to disable or remove any user from the classroom. The virtual classroom will facilitate the sharing of documents and assignments by owner to students. The system would also support submission and grading of in class assignments using mobile devices. The classroom will also facilitate interaction and discussion between the class participants. User Manual 9. Test Execution Results 10. Security Audit Reports Product Acceptance Criteria 1. Completely functional product covering all requirements specified in the Requirement Specification. 2. The final open defect count should not exceed High Severity : 0 , Medium Severity: 1, Low Severity: 4. 3. The application should have successfully passed the performance testing criterion specified. 4. The application should have passed the Security Audit requirements. Project assumptions 1. The students and faculty are equipped with handheld and mobile devices and have the basic understanding of using them. 2. The classrooms are equipped with internet services i.e. Wi-Fi connectivity Project Risks 1. The application is currently being developed only for Android and iOS platforms and hence will not be able to scale to all types of devices which may lead to a loss in market share. 2. The faculty or students may be reluctant to the shift from the traditional forms of learning.
