Supply, Installation and Commissioning of Furniture, Computers,
Software, Equipment and Generator for University Central Library
INTRODUCTION
The State Government of Andhra Pradesh through A.P. Govt. Act No. 30 of
2008 has separated the erstwhile JNTU into four different Universities viz.,
JNT University Anantapur, JNT University Kakinada, JNT University
Hyderabad and JNA & FA University Hyderabad.
JNT University Kakinada started functioning from the 110 acres of University
Campus at Kakinada, since 2008. As a budding University, it is committed to
develop and nurture a Technical Education System in the eight districts of
Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Vishakapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari,
Krishna, Guntur and Prakasam. JNTUK at present has an average student
library visiting demand of around 1000 per day and about 1500 peak demand
on examination days. JNTUK plans to bring good academic environment by
newly constructing Central Library.
Intent of the present tender works and the specifications is to specify the
requirement of JNTUK for providing the facilities of reading to students, staff
and visitors of the Central Library. It is desired to enable the prospective
bidders to submit their best Bid for Supply, Installation and Commissioning of
different works: 1) Furniture, 2) Computers, 3) Software, 4) Equipment, and
5) Generator for the Central Library, in the University premises of Kakinada.

The total available space for the project is approximately 1400 sq.m. The
Bidder should visit the site to assess the suitability and sufficiency of the

NOTE:
The major milestones for the project are to be highlighted in the schedule on a
separate sheet. The contractor shall submit an overall action plan for the work under
his scope of supply and installation of Items along with the Tender.
GUARANTEE
The Contractor will guarantee for the Furniture, Equipment, Software and
Generator in its workmanship, materials, design and of satisfactory performance.
The Contractor shall be liable to replace any parts that may fail or show signs of
defects arising from faulty designs, material, or workmanship, erection or from any
act of commission of the Contractor. All such replacements shall be made free of cost
at site by the Contractor.
DELIVERY OF ITEMS
The completion period of the project is limited to 4 weeks from the date of
Agreement. No further extension shall be provided unless there are some unforeseen
forceful circumstances occur.
INSPECTION
Inspection and testing of work covered under the specification shall be
carried out by the University to ensure that the quality and workmanship are in
conformity with the contract specifications and approved drawings, if any furnished
by the bidder. The University reserves the right to visit at any stage of contracted
work of placing and installation of the Furniture, Computers, Software, Equipment,
and Generator.
FINANCIAL CRITERIA
1)
The Tender Document is Rs.1,000/- (Rupees One thousand only). The
Tenderer has to submit separate Tender Document for each of the
5 Head Works listed viz., Furniture, Computers, Software, Equipment, and
Generator.
Further, it is to be noticed that a single tender document is needed to be
submitted either for the total Head Work or even for 1 or more Sub Works
within the Head Work.

The corresponding EMD has to be paid towards each of the works listed
below. The EMD should be paid at the time of submission of Tender

Document in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favor of the Registrar, JNT

appear on 02-10-2014. The last date for submission of Tender documents is 13-102014 upto 3.00 pm.
c) Both the Technical bids and Financial bids along with original Demand Drafts of
bid processing fee, EMD etc., are to be kept in separate cloth covers and are to be
sealed. Every cover should bear the Tenderers complete address, along with the
title of the Work/Works. All these covers should be kept in a separate big cover
and should reach (by post/person/courier) to the Registrar, JNT University
Kakinada, Kakinada- 533 003 on or before 13-10-2014 at 3 pm. A sealed box for
dropping the tender covers would be kept in the Registrar’s Office. Nonsubmission of any fee/deposit prescribed will attract the rejection clause.
