TIMBER PINES: The Best of Both Worlds
At Timber Pines you can have it all! Relish the privacy and tranquility of
the countryside setting while enjoying all the opportunities afforded by our
close proximity to the tri-city metropolitan area of Tampa, Clearwater, and
St. Petersburg.
Mornings in Timber Pines tempt you to rise early and greet each day with
anticipation. This is Florida’s retirement at its finest. In fact, Timber
Pines is so outstanding that it was recognized by the National Association of
Home Builders as “America’s Best Active Senior’s Housing Community”.
The site for Timber Pines was formerly a tree farm and its natural beauty has
been preserved. Wherever you walk or ride in Timber Pines, you will never
lose sight of the woodlands. Wide, winding, private roads, bicycle paths and
sidewalks have been thoughtfully carved through 1418 acres of pine and oak.
Occasionally you’ll catch sight of a golf course green or a peaceful lake
through a clearing in the trees.
It looks like a northern country club at Timber Pines with the rolling hills
and trees, but the gentle year-round climate makes it uniquely and
satisfyingly Florida. Our West Florida climate includes three gradually
changing, comfortable seasons. The average annual temperature here is a
delightful 72 degrees. That’s ideal for retirement living among the best of
friends.
Your neighbors will be easy to get to know. Meet for a round of golf or a
fun-filled set of tennis at the Lodge or lunch at the Country Club of the
Pines. For special occasions there’s evening dining and dancing too.
Your privacy and security were considered here too. At the entry to Timber
Pines an impressive gatehouse stands as sentinel to the community, manned
round-the-clock by security personnel. Private roads and privacy walls
assure you of a safe, protected community.
Excellence is Par for the Timber Pines Executive & Championship Golf Courses
At Timber Pines you will savor the exhilaration and variety presented by 54
holes of exciting golf featuring two 18-hole executive golf courses, and the
new Grand Pines Championship Course with 18 holes open for play. There is
also a beautiful nine hole pitch and putt golf course around a lake. Timber
Pines is a delight for duffers and pros alike.
Designed by noted golf course architect Ron Garl, whose credits include
famous golf courses across the country including one at nearby Walt Disney
World, the golf courses at Timber Pines are sure to test the skill of your
game. An island green, uphill and downhill fairways, bunkers and tree-lined
roughs all add intrigue to play.
Hernando County
Located on the Gulf of Mexico north of Tampa Bay, Hernando County is one of
the state’s fastest growing counties over the past decade. Health care,
mining and minerals, electronics, and tourism fuel the county’s economy.
With a population of around 150,000, Hernando County retains its small town
charm, with all the big city conveniences located approximately 45 miles to
the south, in Tampa, Clearwater and St. Petersburg.
Withlacoochee State Forest, Weeki Wachee Springs, and Pine Island Beach are
all located in Hernando County. Hernando County has a variety of special
events year round. The Brooksville Raid Festival Civil War Re-enactment, the
Sun Run, the Great Weeki Wachee River Raft and Tube Regatta, the Hernando
County Seafood Festival, Swamp Fest, and the Greater Hernando County Chamber
of Commerce Beach Bash are just a few of the fun events that happen every
year in Hernando County.
