Have you ever asked yourself, “Man, I really wish I could be more involved”, “How can I
better my leadership abilities?”, or a question along those lines?
Well a better way to get involved with the Circle K club at UC Riverside is to APPLY for
appointed board! It’s Simple!
Step 1: Read the following descriptions for each position to see what interests you.

Step 3: Get interviewed.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Do I have to be a paid member to apply?
A: Yes
Q: Can apply for more than one position?
A: Yes, but you must choose your top 3.
Q: What if I can’t attend general meetings,
can I still apply?
A: Yes! Academics are a priority, but it is highly
recommended that you are able to attend
meetings.
Q: Do I need to be an active member currently
to apply?
A: Yes and no. Yes as in it is best to be an
active member in the club because we’ll have
more knowledge about you as an individual.
No, if you feel as if you are not very active,
you’re still encouraged to apply. It’s not really
in what we have seen in you, but what we can
see in you.
Q: Do I have to attend board meetings?
A: Yes, as an officer on board you are required
to attend board meetings. We try our best to
schedule them at times when everyone can
make it.

POSITIONS
FUNDRAISING


Plan, organize, and implement various
fundraisers throughout the year for
administration funds and District Fundraising
Initiatives.
Educate members on significance of the DFI
charities.
HISTORIAN





Create slideshows to present to members at
club meetings, installs, K-Rock, etc.
Take or collect pictures and videos at club
events & meetings.
Upload pictures online for members to view.
Create a traditional and non-traditional
scrapbook to submit at DCON.
Submit pictures for FTC and DCON.
KIDS ROCK BENEFIT CONCERT







Publicize upcoming events.
Design and distribute advertisements & flyers
around campus/residence halls.
Work with Public Relations to manage social
media: Facebook, Twitter, & Instagram
PUBLIC RELATIONS



Provide information to recruit potential
members (includes weekly/summer tabling,
orientations, etc.)
Attending other club meetings on campus to
publicize Circle K International and our events
Work with Promotional Outreach to manage
social media: Facebook, Twitter, & Instagram
SINGLE SERVICE


Act as a liaison between all other branches of
the Kiwanis Family.
Encourage and plan interclub events between
other K-Fam organizations (i.e. Key to College)
Attend weekly Kiwanis meetings and keep them
updated with our club news.
Educate our sponsoring Kiwanis Club about CKI
and strengthen the relationship.


MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT & EDUCATION



Organize our annual large scale fundraiser: Kids
Rock Benefit Concert.
 Funding the event through sponsorships,
fundraisers, and grants.
 Scouting for performers.
KIWANIS FAMILY RELATIONS

PROMOTIONAL OUTREACH
Implement at least one medium-scale service
project every quarter.
Educate members about the District Service
Initiative.
SOCIAL & SPIRIT


Plan socials to foster fellowship within our club.
Assist with Ice Breakers at club meetings and
events.
Create ways to foster club spirit (i.e. cheers).
Prepare FTC Skit.
WEB TECHNICIAN



Educate and inform members about the
opportunities that CKI provides.
Host member workshops and events to promote
growth.
Planning installs, managing the Family system,
and the Big/Lil mentor program.
Create and maintain a functioning, interactive,
and visually appealing website
Update the website on a weekly basis with
upcoming events, announcements, and other
modules
Keep and update online event signup sheet.
CREATE YOUR OWN POSITION!
MEMBER RECOGNITION



Organize programs to recognize and
appreciate members (i.e. Member of the
Month, birthdays, dinners, etc.)
Regularly update and motivate members on
their MRP status.
Educate members on achieving the different
levels of the Membership Recognition Program.


NEWSLETTER



Create a digital and physical publication that
summarizes the club’s activities.
Write and/or collect articles & pictures about
our events.
Submit our event articles to the club secretary,
and district newsletter.

Do you see something that the club lacks in and
you think that the club can benefit with your
idea and efforts? Then you can create your
own position that you and the club must find
worthy, significant, and beneficial to the club.
Good ideas will not be accepted. Great ideas
will not be considered. But only the exceptional
will be considered for a position.
