The main focus of the clinic is providing primary healthcare services; however, the Collaborative Care program is an integrated service offered to all patients of the clinics. Students will function in a collaborative/integrated primary care setting, working alongside medical providers in both integrated and co-located modalities. Students will provide traditional psychotherapy as well as consultation services and health coaching. Additionally, trainees can seek further optional training and experience in biofeedback and neurofeedback services if student has prior exposure to one or both modalities. For what is the student being trained? UCSD Collaborative Care seeks to train health psychologists to effectively assess and treat a diversity of patients seen in primary care clinics. Training and experience in is focused on behavioral medicine as well as 2 D:\106767252.doc evidence-based interventions for anxiety, depression, and psychological disorders using multiple modalities including individual short and long-term therapy, marital and family therapies, as well as consultation services in inpatient settings. If the trainee chooses, he or she may seek additional training and experience in health coaching, and biofeedback/ neurofeedback services. The availability of this option will depend on the student’s previous experience and education in these modalities.
