State Qualifier Tournament Valley Bowling Center – Waverly NY Friday, February 14, 2014 – 9:00am (Boys) Saturday, February 15, 2014 – 9:00am (Girls) (Afternoon 3-game block to start one hour after last ball is thrown from morning block) The intersectional qualifier will be held at least one week prior to the State Championships. To be eligible in both boys and girls divisions a team must advance according to league rules in STAC, MAC and IAC or finished first or second in the “A”, “B”, “C” or “D” divisions at the Sectional Tournament. These squads will bowl three games in the morning and three games in the afternoon, for a total of six games, to determine the boys and girls teams that will advance to the State Championships. If a tie should happen, a one game roll off will be bowled. If a tie still exists then three-frame roll offs will continue until the tie is broken. The selection process for the All Section teams will be derived from the top 30 boys and girls averages in Section IV (based on participation in a minimum of 75% of league games the team has bowled) and the top ten (10) series (boys and girls) from the Sectional Tournament. These bowlers (plus ties) will then be invited to bowl in the state qualifier and bowl two (2) three (3) game blocks. The top six boys and girls with the highest total pin fall from the six games will advance to the New York State Tournament. If a tie for sixth place should occur, a one game roll off will be bowled. If a tie still exists then three frame roll offs will continue until the tie is broken. Note: The top 30 averages for boys and girls do have guaranteed spots for each league. STAC is guaranteed 10 spots. IAC and MAC are both guaranteed 5 spots in the “top 30”. Those teams and individuals that advance will represent Section IV at the NYSPHSAA Bowling Championships on March 1 & 2, 2014. The 2014 championships will be hosted by Section XI at AMF Babylon Lanes, 430 Sunrise Highway - West Babylon, NY 11704. PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING CHANGE APPROVED BY SECTION IV ATHLETIC DIRECTORS IN JUNE 2013: Be it resolved that in an effort to bring together the most competitive sectional all-star team, the top two season averages for both boys and girls receive an automatic all-star berth. The remaining four (4) spots and an alternate would be bowled for through a 6 game competition at the Section IV State Qualifier Tournament held annually. If either or both of these individuals (boys or girls) receiving the automatic bid are members of the school team representing Section IV at the state tournament, then either or both of these positions would be filled through the state qualifier tournament process. 2014 Section IV State Qualifier Entry Form The following school has qualified for the Section IV State Qualifier Tournament at Valley Bowling Center either through league play or Class Tournament results.
