Sponsored Bounce
Congratulations to everyone involved in the sponsored bounce this year. With
your help we have raised a magnificent total of £1161.95.This money will
provide additional learning materials for use in the school, as well as allowing us
to make a number of donations to charities throughout the year.

Annual Carol Service
Our annual Carol Service will take place on Monday 1st December at 7.30pm in
St. Nicholas’ Church, Carrickfergus. This is a whole school service in which we
prepare for the Christmas season. Our collection at this service will be donated
to the NI Children’s Hospice. All pupils should arrive at church no earlier than
7.10pm.The service will last about one hour.
PTA Doughnut Day
Order a doughnut by Wednesday 3rd December for your doughnut on Friday 5th
December. Cost 50p
Santa’s Grotto and Christmas Sale
The school will be open on Friday 5th December from 7.00-9.00pm to welcome
Santa to his Grotto (7.15-8.15pm). Admission to the Sale is £1 per adult and
children are free. Each adult will be entered into a draw for a £50 Toys R Us
Voucher. A variety of stalls will also be available including art activities, face
painting, tattoos, cake, toiletries, gift wrapping and other stalls. We look
forward to seeing you there!
Town Hall Panto
The school will visit the Christmas Panto, “Little Red Riding Hood“, which will be
held in the Town Hall on Wednesday 10th December at 9.30am. Pupils will walk
to the Town Hall, supervised by staff and return in time for lunch. There will be
no charge for this performance. School uniform will be worn. Please complete
the reply slip below.
School Milk
Milk will be available from Monday 5th January to Wednesday 1st April at the
cost of £11.60. Orders must be returned by Friday 12th December at
9.00am. Please complete the tear off slip below.

Gifts for Pupils and Staff
This year, the staff has agreed that rather than buy cards and gifts for pupils,
we will send a donation to help those affected by the ebola virus. Each year
many parents very kindly choose to buy a gift for staff, however this year may
we respectively suggest that you spend a little extra on your own family first,
but if you would prefer, then please send a cash donation in lieu of a card/gift
and we will forward it to the DEC. Please send your donation to school,
(anonymously or named) by Friday 12th December at 9.00am and thank you in
advance for your generosity.
Christmas Presentation by Years 1-4.
Pupils in Years 1-4 will present their Christmas show on Wednesday 17th
December at 10.00am. We hope to see as many parents and friends as possible
at this event, which is always a wonderful experience. The doors open at
9.30am, with car parking available in the school playground from 9.30am. You
should allow at least an hour for this presentation. You may take your child
home after their performance. If you would like a photograph of your child in
costume, please use the pre-order form enclosed with this newsletter.
PTA Ballot
Tickets (£1 each) for a ballot are available until Wednesday 17th December.
Christmas Parties
Our class parties will be held on Friday 19th December. Children may dress in
their own party clothes.
School Holidays
School will close for the Christmas holiday at noon on Friday 19th December
and reopen on Monday 5th January 2015 at 9.00am. There will be no school
dinners or school bus at noon on Friday 19th December.
Breakfast, Homework and After School Clubs
Breakfast Club will recommence on Monday 5th January at 8.00am
Homework Club will recommence on Monday 19th January and not on
Monday 12th January as previously stated.
After School Clubs for Years 4-7 will commence on Monday 19th January
Future Dates
Opera House visit Wednesday 7th January in the afternoon. There will be no
morning school. Pupil Photographs Wednesday 21st January in the morning.
