Science: Making a poster to display the three types of levers. After FOSS investigation 2, students should be able to identify the three different types of levers. They will use Microsoft word, clip art and Google images to demonstrate their knowledge. Activity: Students will write down the three classes of levers and decide which examples they will use to show each (1 or more examples) before accessing the computer. Teacher will show the students a model of a finished product. An example has been done for you. Students will open the word program and type their name and date at the top. Students will title the page: Examples of the Three Classes of Levers. You may choose to have this written on the white board. Students will use clip art and Google images to search for and insert their examples for each category. To use Google images you need to log onto the internet- google.com is in the top left corner. When in images write your topic in the bar and click search. When you find a picture you would like to use, right click and copy it and then open your word paper and right click and paste. Be sure to label each class of levers. To do this you need to move your cursor next to the picture and type your picture title. If your picture needs to be resized you need to click on the image and click and drag a corner in or out to the correct size. Finally, students will write a brief reflection at the bottom of the page about how using this form of technology has bettered their understanding of what they learned in the classroom.
