PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Senior Organisational Development Consultant is accountable to the Manager, Organisational Development for a range of learning; organisational development
and cultural change strategies, functions and initiatives in accordance with the South Australian Strategic Targets (SASP), Department of the Premier and Cabinet
(DPC) Future Directions 2009 – 2014 and related DPC wide priority projects and programs.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Contribute to the achievement of departmental objectives relating to
improved organisational performance by:
i) Providing expert organisational development advice on strategies
to enable workforce learning and development through
contemporary infrastructure, systems and processes
ii) Contributing to the ongoing review of strategies and programs in
the areas of organisational development and human resource
management
iii) Managing the timely and successful completion of strategic HR
projects through comprehensive work plans including deliverables;
budgets, milestones and stakeholder requirements
iv) Researching and analysing emerging workforce development
trends and applying them to projects and strategies
v) Maintaining effective networks to recommend relevant initiatives for
incorporation into business unit practice, and reporting on the
achievement of department outcomes
2. Delivering outstanding service to our customers by engaging genuinely
with stakeholders and generating a sense of energy and excitement in
work and relationships
3. Contributing to the identification, development and implementation of
best practice approaches to attraction, recruitment and retention
initiatives
4. Supporting critical corporate partnerships across the federation to
influence and coach key internal stakeholders in building core workforce
capabilities as captured in the DPC Capability matrix
5. Sourcing external, specialist learning and development expertise on an
as needs basis and managing the resulting contractor relationships to
ensure service delivery is underpinned by the values and quality
principles of DPC Future Directions
6. Contributing and committing to the success of the Organisational
Development team through support, advice and positive encouragement
7. Participating positively in DPC’s Performance Discussion and
Development program, which includes a regular review of employee’s
performance against the responsibilities and outcomes of their position.
8. Complying with relevant legislation, policies and procedures including
Public Sector Act 2009, Code of Ethics for the South Australian Public
Sector, OHS&W Act 1986 and EO Act 1995

Proven experience in the development and implementation of contemporary
workforce planning strategies and initiatives.
Experience in providing expert consultancy services related to workforce
planning at a senior level.
Experience in leading the development and implementation of

Proven experience in developing and reviewing best practice workforce
planning policies, operations and processes.
