ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CONSULTANTS 2008 IED CONSULTANTS LIST 2008 FOREWORD People considering using consultants often have problems identifying which one will be the best for their purposes. Similarly, consultants can have difficulty promoting their services to the increasingly wide range of economic development and regeneration organisations now operating. The Institution of Economic Development's List of Consultants is an attempt to meet these needs. The consultancies listed either are run by or employ members of the Institution of Economic Development. They vary in size and in the range of services offered but IED asks them to keep their entries within a standard format, so the entries can, of necessity, only give an indication of the skills and expertise available. IED also has a Consultants Group which exists to promote the interests of IED members who are consultants and the value of consultancy to the wider economic development profession. The group has an e-mail discussion forum and operates within a Code of Professional Practice. This Code is reproduced at the end of the list for information. Contact the Group Secretary, Iain Mackinnon for more details (iain@themackinnonpartnership.co.uk) Please note that firms are listed alphabetically according to an index letter selected by the firm itself (as a result, for example, "John Brown Consultants" may be listed under "J" or "B"). IED is aware that other firms meet the criteria for inclusion in this publication. If you work for one of them or have employed someone you think should be included, please let us know. IED reserves the right to edit, remove or exclude entries as necessary. The inclusion of consultancy firms or of individual consultants in this list does not constitute a recommendation by IED. for further information, contact: IED, P O Box 796, Northampton, NN4 9TS Tel: 01604 874613 Fax: 01604 705359 e-mail: admin@ied.co.uk website: http://www.ied.co.uk IED CONSULTANTS LIST 2008 A B Associates Ltd Amwell Consultancy and Training Ltd Anderson Planning and Development Ltd Argentix Ltd ARTE-Research Atkins plc BiGGAR Economics Alex Bird Bone Wells Associates Ltd Bridge Economics Paul Butler Associates Ltd Cambridge Resource Economics Carol Pease Associates Ltd CBS Network Services Chimera Consulting (Regeneration) Limited Chrysalis Ltd CNT Ltd Colin Buchanan and Partners Colin Warnock Associates Limited Cornerstone Strategies Ltd David Matson and Associates Derek Walker Consultancy edr consulting EDuce ltd ERBEDU (Leeds Business School) Ernst & Young LLP ERS Ltd Experian Business Strategies Division Firn Crichton Roberts Ltd GHg Consultancy Ltd The Gilfillan Partnership Globe Regeneration Ltd Mike Gordon Consultancy GVA Grimley Halcrow Group Ltd Hall Aitken HLL Humbert Leisure Consulting IED CONSULTANTS LIST 2008 i2 Total Marketing Ltd IDEAction Inergize Innovacion John Clegg Consulting Ltd (JCC) JDT Resources Limited Kate Smyth Kinetic Cubed Ltd Roger Lowe Consultancy The Mackinnon Partnership Management Focus Ltd B.Mothershaw Associates Nathaniel Lichfield and Partners Net-Workman Bert Nicholson Associates Old Bell 3 Ltd (Economic Development and European Services) Optimat Ltd PA Consulting Group Papworth Research & Consultancy Paradine Consulting Geoff Peart Consulting Project-E Ltd Quaternion Research and Consultancy Regeneris Consulting Ltd Research for Results - Strategy for Action Ribble Consultants Rider Levett Bucknall Rowan Tree Consulting Ryden Property Consultants SG Consulting Shared Intelligence SQW Consulting Peter D Taylor TECC - The European Consulting Company Tim L Chambers Transformations Community Projects Partnership IED CONSULTANTS LIST 2008 Trends Business Research (TBR) Pete Trewin Tribal Consulting Ltd URS Economics and Development Vivid Ideas and Solutions Ltd White Young Green WM Enterprise Consultants Claire Yates Regeneration Consultancy IED CONSULTANTS LIST 2008 Company Name A B Associates Ltd Address Kirk Business Centre Castle Road Scalloway Shetland Islands ZE1 0TF Telephone 01595 880852 / E-Mail Website andrew@abassociatesltd.com www.abassociatesltd.com Main contact Andrew Blackadder Fax 01595 880853 Managing Director GENERAL INFORMATION ABA is a consultancy service based in the Shetland Isles offering particular expertise in rural economic analysis, development and strategy from a rural base.
