I am consultant working for company A who is Government body. I am studying for PMP and I am trying to stimulate every chapter to my day-to-day work but I am stuck in understanding the concept because of following scenario 1) I am a consultant of Company A. We are offering a project of Website migration from SQL server to Oracle database plus with some major enhancement like enabling SMS alerts Newsletters subscription etc. I have designed the required enhancement points with considering MY Boss’s (sponsor) requirements orally (about 20) We asked vendors to provide their ideas and estimates on that. two vendors have approached us with their quotations and I am analyzing both of them and trying to minimize those efforts by having actual meetings with Vendor's project Manager. More over I also have team who will be engaged in testing and giving required support like networking and previous code etc as site+database is on our server My question is How do I continue handling this project with PMP framework. I as a client side PM should do what kind of task and should expect what kind of task from Vendor's PM. as per my understanding I am client(sponsor) side PM so what should I do in basic steps. 1) who will develop project Statement of work ( me, My BOSS sponsor) 2) who will develop project charter ( Me, Vendor side PM) 3) who will develop Preliminary project scope statement? 4) who will develop Preliminary Project Management plan ( PM Plan)? 5) who will create Project Scope Statement (PSS) and Project Scope Mgmt Plan? 6) should I create WBS for my team members as our work will start only after getting deliverables from vendor? 7) who will create Procurement mgmt Plan and Procurement document? ( BOSS or ME) Can anybody provide me guideline to manage the above project or step-by-step process? I will be really helpful for me
