Geometry Project You are to design a stain glass window using all of the shapes that we have discussed to this point class. Below you will find a list of the acceptable shapes and formulas for this project. Consequently, the goal is to create a unique, personal stained glass window, calculate the area of each section, assign a specific color to each section and determine the cost of creating this work of art. This window is to be installed on the wall of your house, or on a favorite building that your family has just built and has donated to the “Anderson’s World of Mathematics” research and development department here at CRHS…COST IS NO OBJECT. However, you do need to determine the cost for estimating the cost of the window. The window you are creating will be at a scale of 1 inch = 1 foot so you will have to convert your square inches to square feet of material once you have completed your calculations. Requirements A sketch of your original design does not have to be with a ruler or to scale, just the beginnings of your creation. You may include several preliminary sketches of initials ideas as well. A “blueprint” this is probably the most accurate drawing. It could include dimensions, section descriptions, labels, or any other pertinent information. Please fill out blueprint on paper provided. A finished project or “model” of your window. This could be simply be a copy of the blueprint, now colored in, showing what the window would look like when completed in the window on the next page. Area calculations. From the labeled sections off the blueprint, you can now show how you calculated the area of that shape or part of the window…Be sure to convert areas to square feet. (Proper Scale) The total cost of the stained glass window based on the price of each color, shown on the next page and all work is shown.
