Selection Criteria for Subject-group
Main Criterion (Screening Index)
Screening Index for subject-group selection is based on the subject marks in first term and
second term. The ratio of first term to second term is first term : second term = 3 : 7.
The formula is shown below.
Screening Index = (Chin+Eng+Math)  2 +(Phy+Chem+Bio+Geog+C.Hist+Hist)  1
Supplementary Criterion
If students share the same screening index, the following two supplementary criteria will
be considered: (1) Mean score in 2nd term and (2) Conduct in 2nd term.
Remarks
Only students who have taken Visual Arts in Form 3 or have sought the approval from the
subject panel head of Visual Arts are allowed to select the subject groups with Visual Arts.
