A Picture is worth a 1000 words
Task: In class we discussed direct and indirect characterization. Now it is your turn to unveil your character to the
world. To do this you will be creating an Avatar using the website ww.Voki.com.
Wiki-Post Directions

Favorite Quote – To reveal indirect character traits, provide a favorite quote about the character. This can be
something the character said in the book, or it can be a famous quote by another person that you think the
character would like.

Character Picture – Create an Avatar using the website www.voki.com
Using the tools available, create an avatar to represent your character. The avatar should look like the character
based on direct details given in the text. This includes hair length and color, facial features, eye color, body size,
clothing, and an appropriate background.
Use your “Favorite Quote” to make your avatar speak. Give it a voice. Voices can be typed for the computer to
speak (choose appropriately) or uploaded with a microphone or telephone.
Post the avatar to the wiki. Go to your page and follow these steps:
(1) Enter the edit screen  (2) In the toolbar choose “insert plug-in”
 (3) Select Interactive Media  (4) Choose Voki Speaking Avatar  (5) Save

seven. The chart below will help you figure out which questions to answer. For example, you can choose to answer
question #1, question #2, or question #3 – not all three. Everyone will answer question four. You can choose to
answer question five or six.
Keep track of your responses to the discussion questions. Cross each number out as it is completed.
