SPELLING/HANDWRITING:
-correctly spell the 20 words from this week’s list on Suffixes(ance/ence).
-identify the part of speech for each spelling word.
-give the definition of each spelling word and use it correctly in a sentence.
-write a creative paragraph of at least 5 sentences and using at least 5 spelling words.
READING/VOCABULARY/GRAMMAR:
-define the vocabulary words for this week’s textbook reading selection and use them in context.
-read a short text and identify Word Relationships.
-identify Main and Helping Verbs use them correctly in a sentence.
-read, summarize, and analyze this week’s Realistic Fiction Text selection.
READING COUNTS:
-read the assigned class novel, participate in group discussions about it, and take the Reading Counts Quiz for it by 5/4/12.
-earn 25 Reading Counts and extra credit by reading self-selected novels beyond the required 25 points by 6/8/12.
