PROTECH part numbering system for PS-6508, PS-6509, 6510, 6511, and 3520
units
Example: PRO-PS-6509-1234567
1. The first three letters” PRO” stand for the manufacturer “PROTECH.” The first
three letters will be common for all Protech products and will be followed by a “-“.
2. The next two letters “PS” are manufacturer code. Most of the Protech units will
have PS as the next two letters which will be followed be a “-“.
3. The next four letters/numbers refer to Protech’s model number (6508, 6509,
6510, 6511, and 3520 for the all-in-one units, and 8070, and 8380 for the PCs).
This is followed by a “-“.
4. The first number after the “-” for the model number stands for the operating
system. 0 for no O/S, 4 for Windows XP Pro, P for POS Ready 2009, 5 for POS
Ready 7 (POS Ready version of Windows 7), & 7 for Windows 7 Pro.
5. The second number after the “-” for the model number stands for the memory.
0 stands for 128 MBRAM, 1 stands for 256 MBRAM, 2 stands for 512 MBRAM, 3
stands for 1 GBRAM, 4 stands for 2 GBRAM, 5 for 4 GBRAM.
6. The third number after the “-“for the model number stands for the processor. 0
for standard processor offered with the unit: Intel Atom 1.6 GHz for PS-6509,
Intel Atom Dual Core D525 1.8 GHz for PS-6510, B960 Sandy Bridge 2.2GHz
CPU for PS-6511, and PS-3520, Celeron M1.5 GHz (being upgraded in 2011
and beyond to Pentium M1.5 GHz or Pentium 1.6 GHz at no extra charge) for
PS-6508. Use “1” for the next level processor, for example Intel Core i3-2310M
@ 2.10GHz for PS-6511 ( next is i3-2330M GHz, i3-2350M 2.3 GHz) and so on.
Use “2” for the processor next level up (faster) and so on.
7. The fourth number after the “-“for the model number stands for the hard drive
or compact flash. 0 for standard hard drive (160 GB as of 2012), 1 for the next
upgrade, and 9 for no hard drive, N for NCC compact flash. Other compact flash
and SSD hard drive numbers can be decided as we need such options. S for
standard SSD (16 GB in 2012), 3 for 32 GB SSD, 4 for 40 GB SSD.
8. The fifth number after the “-“for the model number stands for Magnetic Stripe
Reader (MSR). 0 stands for no MSR, 3 stands for three tracks MSR, 4 stands for
finger printer reader and 3-Trk MSR, 5 stands for finger printer reader only no
MSR. 6 stands for 3-Trk MSR on the side (instead of front panel).
9. The sixth number after the “-“for the model number stands for the optical drive.
0 stands for no external drive, 1 stands for CD-ROM, 2 stands for CD-RW, 3
stands for CDRW-DVD.
10. The seventh number after the “-“ for the model number stands for wireless
card. 0 stands for no wireless card. W for single band wireless card. D for dual
band wireless card.
11. For 6508, 6509, 6510, and 6511 wall mount configurations will have P as the
eighth digit as and when required (to reflect PPC which is Protech’s terminology
for wall mount) at the end of the part number. For example the wall mount
version of PRO-PS-6509-1234567 will be PRO-PS-6509-1234567P. For 3520,
only the units with integrated printer will have a P for integrated printer as the
eighth digit. Integrated printer units have two year warranty instead of three year
warranty. PS-3520 is not available with wall mount option like PS-6509 is so we
are using the same letter “P” for printer as we are using for wall mount. For
example the integrated printer version of PRO-PS-3520-1234567 will be PROPS-3520-1234567 P.
PROTECH part numbering system for PS-3100 and 3120 units
Example: PRO-PS-3100-1BXPP2W3
1. The first letter after the “- “ for the model number stands for memory
(RAM). 1 stands for 1 GB, 2 stands for 2 GB.
2. The second letter after the “-“for the model number stands for the color. B
stands for black, R stands for red, L stands for blue, W stands for white.
3. The third and fourth letter (number) after the “-“for the model number
stands for the operating system, XP for XP Professional license, PR for
POSReady 2009, P7 for POS Ready 7 (POS Ready version of Windows
7), and W7 for Windows 7, 00 stands for no operating system, and 0N
stands for compact flash with NCC.
3. The fifth letter (number) after the “-“ for the model number stands for the
integrated printer, P stands for Seiko printer, 0 stands for no printer.
4. The six letter (number) after the “-“ for the model number stands for the
warranty, 2 stands for 2 year warranty (only if fourth letter is P – with
printer), 3 stands for 3 years warranty (only if fourth letter is 0 – without
printer).
5. The seventh letter/number after the “-“ for the model number stands for
wireless card. 0 for no wireless. W for single band wireless card. D for
dual band wireless card.
6. The eight number after “-“ for the model number stands for readers.
0 for no MSR, 3 for three tracks MSR, 4 for finger printer reader and 3-Trk
MSR, 5 for finger printer reader only no MSR.
