separate brands, and has resulted in a new opportunity for an additional Senior Buyer
position to lead the product development and merchandising efforts of our Mallory Lane
home décor brand.
WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
At Winston Brands, Inc., you WILL make a difference. In this highly creative and
analytical position, you will be directly involved in trend research, sales history analysis,
product development and you’ll develop a merchandise plan for each catalog.
You will take products from the strategic planning stages through design, to production,
presentation, and initial ordering stages. Our Home Décor categories include domestics,
decorative accessories, and furniture.
As the head of a Merchandising team, this position will manage a Buyer, Assistant
Buyer, and Product Designer in the development of a balanced assortment of products
based on set financial goals while ensuring customers’ expectations are met or exceeded
through selection and pricing.
Reporting to the Brand Director, this position will be challenged to learn the customers’
wants and needs, to create innovative new item merchandise, to maintain margin and
profits for each catalog line and for growth of each line. The lines have major
introductions throughout the year and interim monthly enhancements.
REQUIREMENTS:
This senior level buyer position requires extensive knowledge / experience in Home
Design, Textile Development, Product Development, Branding, International Sourcing,
Merchandising, Vendor Negotiation, and Client care.










Ideal candidates will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Merchandising, Marketing,
Interior Design or related field
5+ years of merchandising experience, including a specialization as a Buyer in
Home Decor.
1+ year previous management experience
Extensive knowledge of overseas markets and direct importing. Previous overseas
travel experience is a plus.
Willingness to travel overseas 2-4 times per year
Excellent written and verbal and presentation skills; ability to communicate with a
diverse audience.
Strong interpersonal, relationship building and coaching skill; ability to build
team cohesiveness.
Results oriented with strong planning, prioritization, problem solving and
decision making, organizational and time management skills.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to be pragmatic and assertive; leads by
example; assumes responsibility for own actions and holds direct reports
accountable.
Strong computer skills including Word and Excel.
