
Grendel – Review differences in the focus in this novel that parallels Beowulf

The Canterbury Tales – Review the various pilgrims in the General Prologue;
review the tales we read and the match between pilgrim and tale. The Pardoner’s
Tale, The Wife of Bath’s Prologue and Tale, The Miller’s Tale, The Reeve’s Tale,
The Nun’s Priest’s Tale

Othello – review names and plot details. There will be some quotations too.

The Merchant of Venice – see above

Poetry – review differences between 16th and 17th century poems; sonnets; general
terms; scanning terms. There will be some poems to analyze and scan.

Great Expectations – go over the character names and plot details.

Brave New World - go over the character names and plot details

The Importance of Being Earnest
Grammar and Usage – go over the many handouts we’ve done this year: subject-verb
agreement, pronoun use, correct sentence structure, glossary of usage and correct use of
confusing words
Development of the English Language – review notes on Old and Middle English
Vocabulary – review units 10-12
