tale, analysis, and conclusion)
Presentation properly cites all work collected from various
sources according to the Chicago Style guidelines
(http://www.chicagomanualofstyle.org/tools_citationguide.html)
The subject is presented clearly and summarized succinctly in a
way that all members of the audience can understand
Important terms, places, or people are well-defined for the
audience
An analysis of how the tale (or character) is relevant/similar to
the society of the time, to current cultural groups, or to another
story of its kind, is well demonstrated
Material included is relevant to the overall message, whether
that information is being delivered as a comparison, description,
or an analysis
An appropriate amount of material is prepared, and points made
reflect the importance of the material
There is an obvious conclusion that explores the group’s opinions
on the tale and in some way summarizes the presentation
Speaker conveys a mastery of the subject matter; material is not
just being read aloud
Good language skills and pronunciation are used, particularly of
key phrases, terms, or characters
Visual aids are well prepared, informative, and effective, and do
not distract from the overall presentation
Length of presentation (alternative media excluded) is within the
assigned time limit of 12 to 18 minutes
