These include a 4 day intensive "diabetes tune up", called DOIT, weight management programs (Why WAIT and U-Turn), a pregnancy program, a program for the elderly with diabetes, programs for patients using insulin pumps and CGMS, and ethnic specific programs (Latino, Asian American) Estimated Division of Responsibilities: • Patient care (direct or supervisory) and teaching 37.5% • Clinical research 50% • Clinic administration 12.5% Qualifications : - M.D., Board certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology. - Sufficient seniority in the field of diabetes and endocrinology to be appointed Associate or Full Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. - Recognized national or international clinical leader in diabetes. - Possess a focus in one or more specific areas of clinical diabetes care and be prepared to identify and implement modern approaches and new technologies that are appropriate to each of these areas. - Have experience in one or more aspects of clinical research, such as clinical trials, health outcomes, health services and/or translational research, and a record of publications in one or more of these areas. - Demonstrated leadership skills, ability to interact with peers and staff, fiscal and operational aspects of administrative responsibilities such as ensuring accountability in clinical and scholarly activities, staff development, and budget management. - Effective communication skills are needed to share information and influence other section heads and internal/external colleagues as well as to mentor and develop medical staff, fellows and students. - Be articulate both verbally and in writing with regard to clinical diabetes care. - Have experience, expertise and interest in the use, continuous improvement and potential of an electronic medical record. Senior Research Assistant (iPS Core) N2310-12 Overview: The Senior Research Assistant, under general supervision of the iPS core facility Directors, carries out independently the daily activities of the core facility. Qualifications : - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biology or related field. - Minimum 1 year of experience preferably with iPS cells - Previous experience with cell cultures and sterile laboratory technique is required. - Good organizational and record keeping skills and excellent attention to detail are an essential component of this position. - Ability to work pro-actively and in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Some weekend flexibility will be required. - Computer experience is desirable.
