What’s creative about this use of PowerPoint?
How will it enhance learning? Are text, images,
sound, and slide animations used effectively?
This powerpoint is very colorful and has interesting
images. The powerpoint is very thorough and gives
the students an excellent summary of the book
Animal Farm. The slides are easy to read, and the
images are worth looking at. I would say this
powerpoint would be very effective in the
classroom because of all the information it
contains.
This powerpoint is so colorful and creative. I love
it. Each slide is very direct and to the point. The
slides contain great examples and are beneficial in
learning. Everything is color coded allowing you to
follow each example easily. I would definitely use
this powerpoint in my classroom because of its
clarity and effectiveness.
This website is about different President’s that
have served our Nation. It is very informative and
has several neat stories to go along with each
President. The picture of Mount Rushmore is a
great opening slide. It grabs the audience’s
attention and makes them want to learn more. I
really like this presentation and think it would be
very beneficial in a classroom around President’s
Day.
This website was hard to read because of the white
font on blue background. The cursive type font was
hard to read. There were many pictures on each
slide which I would find distracting. There was a
lot of information but I do not think it was
organized very well. If I used this powerpoint in
my classroom I would need to redo the font, color,
pictures, etc… I do not know if this would be a
beneficial powerpoint to use in the classroom.

This powerpoint has very limited information. The
opening slide is very creative: it has a black
background with all the planets in the right order.
Each planet is labeled for clarity. However, each
slide after that consists of a white background,
which is very boring, and one picture of the
specific planet. Each slide could be more effective
by listing facts and information about each planet,
rather than only a picture. I would not use this
powerpoint in my classroom because I do not think
it would have any effect on students.
This powerpoint would be a great presentation to
use in the classroom. It is very informative and
clear. Each slide has a balanced amount of
information and pictures. It explains terms that
might be unknown to students. The slides are easy
to read and have beneficial information. I would
use this powerpoint in my classroom because of the
effect it would have on student’s learning.
Having taken Spanish for eight years I am very
familiar with the language and plan to incorporate
Spanish into my classroom no matter what grade I
teach. This powerpoint is well put together. It has
appropriate sound effects and great clarity. The
background is very creative: a chalkboard. The
examples are actual clocks with the time below,
which is a great visual. I would use this powerpoint
in my classroom.
This powerpoint does not look professional. The
font is in all different bright colors which are hard
to look at. There are not very many slides and each
one is very basic. It is more of math problems
rather than how to… I would not use this in my
classroom because I believe I could make a more
effective powerpoint that would reach more
students.
This powerpoint of definitions would be very
beneficial in an algebra class. It is very simple and
direct. Each slide is easy to read and would be very
beneficial to use in the classroom so the students
can copy and take notes. Each definition is precise
and explains each term great. I would definitely use
this powerpoint in my classroom and think it would
be beneficial for the students.
More Factoring

This powerpoint is awful. The colors used are very
distracting and each slide has so much going on it
is too hard to follow. The way they demonstrate
how to factor is very confusing. Trying to follow
exactly what is going on is hard. This would not be
a good powerpoint to use trying to teach students
how to factor. I do not think this powerpoint would
be beneficial to students.
Now that you’ve reviewed PowerPoint examples in your subject, what are your initial ideas for
(Here I will focus on Science)
Student use of PowerPoint: I would have my students break up into groups of 2-3 people. I
would assign a planet to each group and with their group they would need to research their
planet. Their PowerPoint would need to have informative information as well as interesting facts
and pictures that capture what they are talking about.
Teacher use of PowerPoint: I would compile each group’s presentation and make one large
presentation of the entire solar system. I would show it to the class and allow them the
opportunity to learn about each planet.
