Assistant Treasurer

Holds valid State of Ohio School Treasurer License
Has at least three years of successful experience in school finance and supervision
Treasurer
Job Goal:
To assist the Treasurer in the fiscal management of the school district.
Essential Functions
Supervises and evaluates the job performance of the fiscal/business office staff and receptionist.
Coordinates annual student activity budget preparation with advisors.
Prepares annual student activity purpose statements and budgets for Board of Education approval.
Checks all student activity, state and federal purchase requisitions to ensure compliance with purpose
statements and budgets.
Monitors all student activity fund raising projects and audits receipts and expenditures for same.
Enters all daily revenue, appropriation, and budgetary activities into computer system.
Assists the Treasurer in investing the district’s active and interim moneys to maximize interest earnings.
Prepares budgets, requests funds, and completes final expenditure reports for State and Federal programs
in the district, in accordance with project guidelines and funding requirements.
Assumes responsibility for enrolling employees in the group health benefit plan and communicating all
enrollment changes to the plan administrator.
Assists the Treasurer in preparing the comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) in accordance with
generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Assists the Treasurer in implementing requirements of the educational management information system
(EMIS).
Prepares monthly financial report of funds and accounts for the Treasurer.
Assists employees in filing Workers’ Compensation forms.
Audits monthly bank statements.
Attends meetings and seminars when necessary to keep abreast of changes in school finance.
Prepares payroll time sheets for all Federal and State projects and assists in implementing the districtwide
payroll every two weeks.
Is responsible for ordering districtwide supplies used for Accounts Payable, such as, warrant checks,
purchase orders, and supplies needed for the Fiscal Department.
Assumes such additional duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Treasurer.
