7 th Grade American History

Seventh grade social studies is the first half of a two year course on
American History that will cover the time period between the European colonization of the Americas until the American Civil War. Eighth grade social studies will cover from Reconstruction until the 2000s and will end with a comprehensive final exam covering all of the material learned in seventh and eighth grade.
At the start of 7 th grade, you will be expected to demonstrate knowledge of basic geography skills by being able to label the following items on a map:
1.
All 50 states
2.
The Great Plains, the Mississippi River, and the Great Lakes
3.
All of the Continents
4.
.Atlantic and Pacific Oceans
5.
Canada, Mexico, Great Britain, Spain, France, Russia, China, India and Italy
6.
A Compass Rose
