ks de Roc a r G d 3r Technology Integration Our Hopes and Dreams This year is a trial for the Demonstration Classroom. As we are making our way through the curriculum we are integrating technology. This works well for us but may be outdated by the time you receive the information. (Meaning you may have already taught that unit of study for the year.) Monthly, we will be sending out a newsletter sharing with you what we are doing in our room. If you see something that you would like to do in your room, let us know and we will help/teach/do it for you. If there is a specific area you would like us to concentrate on you can tell us and we will work on them ahead of time. We are currently working on a Government unit. If you have ideas to share, please feel free. Aside from integrating technology we are also working on different Professional Development projects and working with our building and lower grade levels on technology uses. We don’t claim to be experts. We are open to hearing about technology things you are doing in your room and would love to try them and share them with the rest of the 3rd grades in the district. This is new for everyone so your feedback is appreciated (as long as it’s nice ). Upcoming Professional Development training. Technology Infused Government Unit Curriculum Literacy We use the Daily 5 model for time management during guided reading. During Word Works we have our students work on the IPad and itouches. There is a screenshot on the next page. Social Studies You can find links we used during the map skills unit on the next page. Science The links we are using during the Life Science unit are on the next page. We also created the Learning Masters for the activities in a Google Doc for the students to use IPads to record their obser- Technology Infused Illinois Unit vations rather than pencil and paper. They can then share these with us, as well as the rest of the class. If you are interested in doing this in your class contact us and we can show you how or do it with you.
