1. Go to the following web site:

Complete the VIRTUAL EARTHQUAKE activity. When you finish, copy the
CERTIFICATE and paste it into a WORD document.
2. Go to the following web site:
http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/map/
3. Drag the screen around and locate a view that has an interesting cluster of quakes.
Complete the following:
a. What is the region and time for your map?
b. What is the approximate magnitude of most of the quakes in the region?
(click on individual quakes for specific data)
c. Describe the largest quake in the region (location, magnitude, depth).
d. Describe the most recent quake.
e. Does there seem to be a pattern? (along a known plate or fault?)
4. Add these answers to your previous document and submit on TurnItIn.
