Shirley J. Goeffroy Professional Development Fund
Program Information and Reimbursement Guidelines
Effective September 1, 2008
The Shirley J. Goeffroy Professional Development Fund (PDF) is available
to encourage and support School of Continuing Education faculty involvement in
scholarly activities that will contribute to professional growth and also to enhance
the quality of education available to our students at Saint Leo University.
The PDF provides for faculty reimbursement awards through
recommendations by a School of Continuing Education constituted Professional
Development Committee. Awards will be determined based upon the scholarly
merit of the request, the needs of the University and the needs of the individual.
Professional Development Committee members are elected at the beginning of
the academic year from School of Continuing Education faculty members who
are assigned to Centers within the Virginia Region. The committee consists of
three full-time resident center faculty members who select their own chairman
from the three elected members. A committee member who has completed a
three year term may be reelected to the Professional Development Fund
Committee for successive three year terms. The committee makes grant
recommendations to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and meets four
times per year. Applications are due to the PDF Committee by September 10th,
December 10th, March 10th and June 10th of each academic year. Applications
will be submitted using the Reimbursement Form for Professional Development
Fund (Enclosure 1) for the Shirley J. Goeffroy Professional Development Fund.
The following guidelines for submitting applications for reimbursement from the
Shirley J. Goeffroy Professional Development Fund to the Professional
Development Committee apply:
