They quickly did an angiogram to determine the cause, and then did an angioplasty to put in a stent. Ken is now resting comfortably at the Foothills hospital. Our thoughts and prayers are with Ken and Ann as he recovers. IMPORTANT REMINDER: The Gyro International and District VIII Convention is being held in Calgary on July 17-23, 2006. This event is being hosted by the Stampede City Gyro Club of Calgary. It would be an immense help to the Stampede Club if you would do the following: 1) To receive the discount rate on the registration you must register no later than March 31, 2006. 2) The Westin Hotel has set aside a block of rooms for the Gyro event at a special room rate. The Stampede City Gyro Club must make a commitment on the room nights by early April. To assist our fellow Gyro Club it would be most beneficial for them to know who has registered and who is planning to book rooms at the Westin Hotel. Let’s show our support to the Stampede City Club by registering and booking the hotel as soon as possible. 4 DID YOU HEAR…… An elderly woman was arrested for shop lifting. When she went before the judge he asked her, “What did you steal?” She replied, “A can of peaches.” The judge asked her why she had stolen them and she replied that she was hungry. The judge then asked her how many peaches were in the can. She replied that there were 6. The judge then said, “ I will give you 6 days in jail.” Before the judge could actually pronounce the punishment the woman’s husband spoke up and asked the judge if he could say something. The judge asked, “What is it?” The husband said, “She also stole a can of peas.” THOUGHT FOR THE MONTH: Action may not always bring happiness, but there is no happiness without action. - Benjamin Disraeli Your bulletin editor.
