In order to understand the products to be brought on Catalogue / NDP Rate Contract, technical presentation / demonstration was given by the fifteen applicants at ISQM Hall, DGS&D on 16th and 17th December, 2015. The presentation was done in front of the members of Screening Committee. The salient features of the presentation made by the various applicants / vendors are as under:I. Solar Dustbin by M/s. Pugedon India (Asia), New Delhi (OEM: Pugedon) The representative of the firm intimated that they have developed a solar dustbin. This dustbin operates on solar power and also has a battery inside. The machine has two compartments, one for the recyclable wastes and another for nonrecyclable waste. The novel feature of the machine is when the recyclable waste like plastic / water bottle, soda bottle, tin cans, paper etc. are thrown in the machine, it provides a return gift as an incentive. The return gift can be in a form of movie ticket, metro ticket, re-chargeable coupon of mobile, pencil, pedigree food, toffee, chocolate, Bisleri water bottle etc. The machine accepts the non-recyclable wastes also but the return gift is provided only for the recyclable wastes. Each machine has a capability to accumulate waste of 800 to 1000 bottles. The machine is fitted with sensors which detect and distinguish between recyclable and non-recyclable wastes. The machine is made of stainless steel and is powder coated. The firm’s rep. stated that the task of taking away the accumulated waste from the machine and distributing the incentive will be done by them. They will deploy manpower who will collect the wastes from the machine at 6-8 hour interval daily and F.NO.P-13022/2/2015/P&C-2 also fill up the machine with return gifts. They will arrange for the return gift on the basis of amount received by selling the recyclable wastes. They will provide a warranty of 2 years and the service backup for 10 years. The cost of the machine including the services rendered is around Rs. 3.5 lakh. The firm’s rep. intimated that they have not sold a single machine in India as well as Asia. Some machines have been sold by them in U.S. and Europe. The machines are being manufactured in Turkey. They have also a patent issued by Turkish Government and have factory in Istanbul. The Committee asked the firm’s rep. to share the copies of supply orders as received by them from U.S. and European Governments and also to furnish a copy of the English translation of the patent. This information is still awaited from them. II. Chest Compression Unit and Defibrillator by M/s. Medi Waves Inc. ( OEM: Physio – Control Operations, Netherland, Brand: Lucas) The firm’s rep. stated that their chest compression unit gets enabled very quickly in just 5-10 second. It is based on piston and suction based technology which enables recoiling and is a USFDA approved machine which is also a proprietary and a patented product. It helps to give continuous blood supply from heart to brain in the event of cardiac arrest and helps to revive the patient. They have sold their products to many prominent hospitals like AIIMS, G. B. Pant Hospital and Apollo-Ludhiana etc. Their product is different from other leading manufacturers like M/s. Zoll. They have their chest compression unit only whereas that of M/s. Zoll is integrated product for chest compressor as well as defibrillator and is quite expensive. Their CPR product has 45 minutes of battery backup and rechargeable, with warranty of 2 years. As regards defibrillator, the firm mentioned that their defibrillator is of 360 Joule biphasic of Physio Control, Netherland. It is USFDA approved and is very advantage in case of obese patient compare to conventional 200 Joule defibrillator manufactured by other companies like Philips, Zoll etc. III. Sharp Blaster Sterilization Unit by M/s. Adison Equipment Company, New Delhi (OEM: M/s. Safe Environmental Solutions International Ltd.). The rep. of the firm intimated that their product has been designed on the recommendation of WHO and has been duly approved by CPCB after field trials. It is a device which safely disposes sharp waste like needles, syringes, and blades etc. which are bio-hazardous. Their system consists of microprocessor based computerized sterilization technology having disposable five litre canisters for sharps and soft clinical waste. The device processes the waste for up to two and half hours reaching a temperature of 185° C sterilizing the infectious waste and sealing the canister for safe disposal. At a high temperature of 185° C, all types of plastics / sharps melt and not burn. Moreover, all pathogens including HIV are killed. It was also stated that the same can be disposed of like a normal scrape. The power consumption is very low of F.NO.P-13022/2/2015/P&C-2 the order of one unit for 150 minutes duration. The device has also ability to maintain the log of the disposed material. They stated that there is no other manufacturer for this item which has been approved by CPCB as may be verified from their website. They also have an optional compactor unit which reduces the size of the final processed waste by compressing the canister. The rep. of the firm stated that they have sold 200 units in various Delhi hospitals like AIIMS, G.B. Pant, DDU, LNJP etc. IV. Cassette Autoclave by M/s. NW Overseas (OEM: M/s. SCICAN Ltd, Canada) The firm’s rep. stated that Cassette Autoclave is a type of portable autoclave which because of its portability and small size can be placed in the Operation Theatre itself and thus high value and delicate instruments need not be carried to the central autoclave room and can be sterilized in the O.T. itself. It is very useful in case of sterilization, dentistry and precision ophthalmology discipline etc. It is very fast and in just 8 minutes, it sterilizes the instrument by attaining temperature of 132° C unlike other autoclaves which require 45 minutes cycle time, the cassette autoclave is unique as it subsequently reduced the cycle time. The device uses a steam generator which heats to the optimum temperature and defined volume of distilled water is pumped in and converted to steam. Then steam is injected into pressure chamber and cassette which contains the instruments to be sterilized. Air is purged as the steam courses through the cassette and is continuously expelled into a condenser of flask. After the cycle is completed, a small air pressure switches on, drying and cooling the instrument rapidly. The equipment is USFDA approved and the approx. cost is around of Rs. 8.8 lakhs. The firm reps. intimated that they have already sold this equipment to Govt. of Uttrakhand and in Gwalior. V. Cyphenothrin 5% EC (Insecticide) by M/s. Sumitomo Chemical India Pvt. Ltd. (OEM: Sumitomo Chemical) The firm’s rep. intimated that their product is highly effective on Ants, Cockroaches, Flies, Mosquitoes and kills them. It is a professional vector controlled spray with special spray concentration. It can be used as an in-door spray and for outdoor fogging purposes also. It has got a unique formulation and can be mixed with both water/diesel/kerosene. It has got very low human toxicity. The specifications have been laid down by BIS. It has been recommended by WHO. The product is as per IS specification and has been approved by CIB after conduction of human safety test. The field trials also have been conducted by ICMR. The product is duly approved by Technical Advisory Committee of M/o. Health & Family Welfare and has also been approved for inclusion in the NVBDCP programme by M/o. Health & Family Welfare. The approx. price is Rs. 1350/- per litre. F.NO.P-13022/2/2015/P&C-2 VI. Fire Extinguisher (Foam/powder based) by M/s. Aska Equipment Ltd. (OEM: M/s. Aska) The firm’s rep. intimated that this fire extinguisher uses foam/powder. It is made up of high density polyethylene weaved Kevlar body which is extremely tough and yet very light. It is corrosion free and 100% recyclable. The weight of the cylinder is 40% less than the conventional metallic cylinders. The complete unit is a single unit without any welding. They have obtained the technology transfer from a British firm. The life of the fire extinguisher is 20 year with 10 year warranty. They intimated that they are the only one who are manufacturing and selling such type of product in India. VII. De-contamination Liquid for Toxic Gases (Easy Decon DF 200) by M/s. Viraj Clean Sea Enterprises Pvt. Ltd. (OEM: M/s. Intelgard Inc. USA) The rep. of the firm intimated that their product Easy Decon DG200 is a safe, highly effective, inherently biodegradable, full-spectrum solution designed by Sandia National Laboratories for Chemical and Biological Decontamination. Easy Decon is designed to offer unprecedented versatility and is deployable as a liquid, fog or foam using any number of industry standard commercial applicators. It is especially effective when deployed by compressed air foam systems (CAFS). Its salient features are :i. It is environmentally friendly. ii. Non-hazardous for storage and transport. iii. Stable with long shelf life. iv. of Low corrosivity. v. Non-hazardous to personal and individual protective equipment (IPE) vi. Logistically advantageous. vii. Deployable in different forms. The firms’ rep. stated that it has not been sold as yet in India but it is required by Defence, NDMA etc. They have been granted US patent. VIII. Penergetic-t/Penergetic-P/Penergetic-K by M/s. Trinity Agro Impex Pvt. Ltd. (OEM: M/s. Penergetic International AG, Switzerland) The firms’ rep. stated that their OEM M/s. Penergetic is a Switzerland based company. They have developed organic product for enhancing the fertility of soil, plants and improve the health of animals and increase the yield of milk. These products are called as Jeevan Bhumi, Jeevan Vanaspati and Jeevan Pashudhan. These products are based on herbs, minerals and calcium carbonate. F.NO.P-13022/2/2015/P&C-2 IX. Dynamic Telepresence System by M/s. Business Octane Solutions (P) Ltd, Gurgaon (OEM: M/s. Business Octane Solutions) The firms’ rep. intimated that they have developed a solution which is 1000% to 4000% more effective than ordinary video teleconferences. It can also increase an organization’s teaching and training pace by up to 300% without increasing the size of faculty. Their product is different from video conferencing which has following limitations:i. a video conferencing system is just around 10% effective as far participants appear much smaller from their actual size. ii. In a multi location meeting, members appear as stamp size heads. iii. Lack of eye contact and hand movement. iv. Challenges in sharing desktop, explaining from a whiteboard or from documents. v. Smudgy audio & video quality. vi. Inability to join a meeting without IT assistance. However, in their system, all the participants at all the locations see all the other participants at all times along with seeing the current speaker life like and life size as if he is just sitting in front of them at a distance of 10 to 15 feet. This is one of its kind in the world. This Telepresence system can support up to 33 locations in immersive telepresence experience which nobody else can in the world unlike the system of M/s Cisco & M/s Polycom which support very few users in telepresence. It is easier to use than a cell phone. They have two selling plans regarding telepresence:i. The complete room /training room along with the complete system to be designed and constructed by the customer. ii. Per hour option in which the complete room/training room, telepresence system bandwidth are provided by the firm and the user is charged on per hour basis. X. Cloud based Video Conferencing) by M/s. Uneecops Technologies Ltd, New Delhi (OEM: M/s. Lifesize). The rep. of M/s. Lifesize stated that their product is based on Cloud Technology. In their system, MCUs are not required. Therefore, there is a lot of financial saving to the user department as MCUs are very expensive. Their system is simple and easy to use. Any user can download their App on mobile/laptop/desktop or tablet and operate through that with the single click. The user has also an option to record the video conferencing at his server or in the cloud. The subscription charges are based on the usage of cloud capacity. All the major organizations in developed countries are using this system. The changes are on the basis of per user. F.NO.P-13022/2/2015/P&C-2 XI. Rework Station by M/s. Agmatel India Pvt. Ltd. (OEM: M/s. Weller Tools, Germany) The firm’s rep. intimated that this is highly precise rework station which does soldering, de-soldering and hot air tasks of minute and small component. Its salient features are:• All-in-one-Station: Every soldering application can be done with this station – soldering, desoldering and hot air tasks. • Ownership - with 1 station is used instead of 3 units. • • Heating Technology: Fast reaction time, fast heating up time with active tips and power response tips. As the name suggest this item removes all the toxic fumes from the work bench. They intimated that they have supplied around 850 unit worth Rs. 12 Cr. to Indian Army in last one to two years. Defence Forces, HAL, Ordinance Factories etc., are the user departments who require this product. XII. Multi Product Calibrator by M/s. Agmatel India Pvt. Ltd (OEM: M/s. Fluke) The reps. of the M/s. Agmatel and M/s. Fluke gave a presentation for their following products relating to calibration: Multiproduct Calibrator Model 5522A:- to calibrate a variety of Electrical test tools like DMM’s Clamps, Power Meters, process Calibrators etc. RF Calibration System Model 96270A:- to calibrate RF instruments like Spectrum Analyzers, Modulation meters, Measurement receivers, Counters, RF Attenuators and components. Dedicated Multichannel Scope Calibrator Model 9500B:- fully automated Scope Calibrator up to 6GHZ. Reference DMM Model 8508A:- for verifying the performance of the Calibrators. These are required by Municipalities, Electricity Boards, Power Plants and Disaster Management etc. for installation and erection of poles in disaster management. Accuster Technologies) The firm’s rep. stated that their portable lab is rugged, adoptable Indian climate and contains miniaturise analyzers. The miniature analyzers are of low weight of the size of credit card and they work in all types of environment without any recalibration. The power consumption is nearly 1/20 of the conventional lab. It can perform 36 blood tests currently. The blood sample is taken in small centrifuge tubes which are much cheaper than tubes used in any conventional lab. They have also bike mountable model. They have a valid DGS&D R/C for this item which is valid upto 18.01.2016. Green Power Resource Management) The rep. of the firm stated that the Solar Water Filtration System designed by them uses Solar Power which is environmental friendly and provides quality water output as per WHO / BIS / EPA standards without any water wastage. The product features are as under:Design Features Different & Unique The unit offers compact and modular size not available in the market for comparative filtration capacities. Despite the compact design the unit is rugged and military grade for airborne, land based, etc. delivery options to remote location like disaster sites. The unit is designed to be Energy Efficient by making operation possible using minimal power, AC/DC hybrid power option. The system requires less than 50% spaces required by comparative capacity units using existing filtration technologies. The above features are unique developed over extensive R&D to meet the tough conditions of defense forces in adverse locations around the world.
