PRICE CHECK! – The Musical ‐ Cast JACQY PHILLIPS ‐ Mrs Zimmerman Jacqy’s career has spanned 37 years as an actor. She is well known for her role as the original Irene on Home & Away as well as playing the horrible Mrs Cribbage in the award‐winning Australian movie Red Dog. She also starred in the original production of Matthew Robinson’s musical Metro Street. Her most memorable theatre years were in Jim Sharman’s flagship company Lighthouse. After working for Patch Theatre Company for the national and international tour of Pigs, Bears, Billy Goats Gruff, Jacqy returned to the State Theatre in Patrick White’s Ham Funeral and Moliere’s The Imaginary Invalid for Brink Productions. She workshopped and performed with Nicki Bloom’s play Land And Sea and played Macbeth in an all‐female version for Foul Play Inc. Her latest work is this year's production of Summer of the Seventeenth Doll for the State Theatre Company of SA which also toured to Sydney. PAUL DAWBER ‐ Mr Butler Paul Dawber is a veteran of the stage, film & TV. In the theatre he has worked with QTC (Count Dracula), Malthouse (Two) and The Los Angeles Shakespeare Co. (Hamlet, Romeo & Juliet, The Merry Wives of Windsor, Twelfth Night, A Midsummer Night’s Dream). In music theatre his credits include the Australian national tour of The Sound of Music (GFO) and in 2014 Parade (The Collective). He has over 50 film & TV credits (IMDb) including Sons & Daughters (33 eps), Blue Heelers, Neighbours (56 eps), Stingers, House Husbands, Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries and most recently in the soon to be released feature film Pretty Little Things. GRANT DURHAM ‐ Zayeeb Dash Grant is a graduate of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts and graduated from the musical theatre course. On stage he has performed in professional productions of Leader of the Pack (Newtheatricals), Mamma Mia (Dainty), Hair (Macks Entertainment), Hello Dolly (Production Company), Sideshow Alley and Guys & Dolls (Donmar Productions). On screen he has guest roles on Stingers, Rush, Neighbours, Thank God You’re Here and City Homicide. BELINDA HANNE REID ‐ Narelle Sims Belinda has appeared in The World Goes 'Round, Elegies for Angels, Punks & Raging Queens, as Golde in Fiddler on the Roof and as Grandma in Summer of the Aliens. Before commencing her degree at Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University, she studied acting at University of Southern Queensland, where she appeared as Lady Conan‐Doyle in Houdini: The Man From Beyond, Eddie in Talking to Terrorists, Margaret in Spirits in Bare Feet and Mrs Peachum in Threepenny Opera. Belinda toured QLD with the Ergon Energy Big Band in 2009 and 2010 as their vocalist, and has directed and performed with community and co‐op theatre groups in Sydney and Toowoomba. SEAN WEATHERLY ‐ David Fisher Sean graduated from the Flinders University Drama Centre in 2002 with a BA (Honours). He produced and performed in a sell‐out 13 show season of Tomfoolery for the 2008 Adelaide Fringe Festival at La Boheme. In Melbourne he performed in The Cherry Umbrella, The Evolution of Incompetence and Friday Night In Town at La Mama. He composed for A Narrow Time for Angels ‐ the Musical for the 2011 Midsumma Festival. He currently owns and operates a successful Children’s Entertainment business in Melbourne called Noodles the Clown and friends and had a guest role on Underbelly Squizzy. Other musical productions Sean has performed in include Saturday Night with Magnormos and McCubbin at BMW Edge Fed Square. He is currently producing the musical Price Check which he co‐wrote with Cerise de Gelder. Brett Fisher ‐ Ensemble Brett is a graduate of the Musical Theatre Course at Patrick Studios Australia. Brett was a dancer in the 2013 debut production for Michael Ralph, Now & Then, performed in Looney Tunes Live: Classroom Capers (Jim The Host), and The Wild Party (Burrs) directed by Andrew Hallsworth. He was associate choreographer for Godspell (Magnormos), and then went on to direct Namaste The Cabaret written and performed by Adam Porter. Last year, Brett was in the ensemble of KIN Collaborative’s GaGa V Assange, and toured Australia and NZ in Lifelike Touring's Peppa Pig Live: Treasure Hunt (George Pig/Pedro Pony). He has just finished a sellout season of Trifle Theatre Company's production of Avenue Q as part of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Karla Hillam ‐ Ensemble Karla has appeared on hit TV shows Offspring and Wentworth as well as touring the east coast of Australia with Brainstorm Productions. She toured Australia and NZ with the debauchery of The Divine Miss Bette and appeared as Missy in the Monster Media production of The Marvellous Wonderette's at 45 downstairs. She is a member of Latino cabaret sensation Los Nachos Trios! who played the Speigeltent for the Ballarat Cabaret Festival and appeared as Arachna the insidious Spider of the Speewah in the premiere of The Lizard of Oz for Crow Crow productions. Karla appeared as Sunny Jacobs in the Sol III production of The Exonerated at Chapel off Chapel. Jane Kingsford – Ensemble Jane completed her full time training in the Music Theatre stream at Jason Coleman’s Ministry of Dance. She has appeared in Disney's Beauty and the Beast – presented by ANZ/Adam Lowe for the Rob Guest Endowment, the World Ballroom Championships Opening Ceremony, The Australian Open with Tenacity DC as well as countless television and corporate events. She is a member of Boss Dance Company ‐ who won the UDO Australian Hip Hop Championships earlier this year, and will have the chance to represent Australia at the World Championships in Glasgow in 2016. Samantha Merckel ‐ Ensemble Samantha completed a Bachelor of Communication at RMIT University and expanded her musical theatre performance skills at Jason Coleman's Ministry of Dance, where she was awarded a full scholarship for her second year of study. She has performed as a dancer and singer for many corporate, promotional and television productions including the World DanceSport Championship Opening, Hannah Montana Tribute Show, KPMG Annual Ball,Commonwealth Games Closing Ceremony, Select Band and Copacabana. She has also featured in Neighbours, The Good Guys television commercials as well as several Groove Pill film clips. Danae Stewart – Ensemble Danae graduated from WAAPA in 2010. She has performed in Harvest Rain's productions of Guys & Dolls and Oklahoma and was cast in a workshop production of Women In Black, directed by Simon Phillips. Danae also performed in a Rocky Horror Tribute, Time Warp as Janet and was cast in a workshop production of The New Black, directed by Stephen Helper at the Melbourne Arts Centre. During her time at WAAPA she was cast in the role of Hope in Anything Goes and as Jenny in Company. She also performed in WAAPA's productions of Ragtime, Cabaret and 42nd Street. Camille Wai – Ensemble Camille is a Music Theatre graduate from APO Arts Academy. Camille made her stage debut in Anyone Can Whistle, presented by Magnormos. She has also played the role of Molly Jolly in Victoria Opera's Sleeping Beauty and Madeline in the new Australian musical Blessed. While studying she performed in a series the academy’s shows including My Favorite Year , The World Goes Round, Rich and Happy and more. PRICE CHECK! – The Musical ‐ Creatives NOEL ANDERSON ‐ Director Noel completed NIDA’s Playwright Studio in 1996 and trained at Stella Adler Studio (New York), The Gate Theatre (London), Independent Theatre (Sydney) and Brisbane Academy of Music. He has worked as an actor, director and writer. His written work includes: Germ Warfare, Circles and The Carer which played at Sydney’s Belvoir Street theatre. Noel's strictly adult play, Sammy & Dave played to packed houses at the Stables Theatre (Sydney) and his children’s play Kylie Kastle Throws a Party was performed in hundreds of schools across the country by Troubadour Theatre Co. As director & dramaturg, Noel worked on Kingdom ‐ an Australian musical based on the King Arthur Legend and also The Other Half, a TV pilot for Beyond Films. Noel assistant directed the first Aboriginal sitcom produced on SBS TV called The Masters, and counts Sylvia Plath’s play Letter’s Home at Belvoir Street Theatre among his best directing work. In 2008, Noel’s short play Pulling Out won Midsumma’s Pink Shorts Festival and The Water Sellers at Dante's was awarded Best Director by the Monash Theatre Festival. In 2013, Noel's written work Love Letters was performed at The Arts Centre and his play Andy Warhol's Fifteen Minutes of Fame played to full houses at La Mama, Courthouse. Other directing work includes: Friday Night in Town (La Mama), A Fitzroy Romance (La Mama), Blowing Whistles (Cromwell Rd Theatre), Australia Dot Com (La Mama) and Especes Menacees for the Melbourne French Theatre Company. DANA JOLLY ‐ Choreographer Dana's first professional show was at age 10 in the musical Gypsy. She then trained at VCA for 8 years and worked professionally in Australia after graduating in Classical Ballet and Contemporary companies. She travelled to London & worked there extensively for 10 years performing and choreographing in TV, Film, and Theatre. Sent back to Australia by Broadway choreographer Susan Stroman she was Resident Choreographer on her production of Showboat. Since then she has choreographed 12 musicals to date including 8 for the Production Company as well as the national tour of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (Tim Lawson), The Producers, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Sexercise ‐ The Musical. RAINER POLLARD – Pianist/Musical Director Rainer is a freelance musician who recently moved to Melbourne from Queensland. His work as an accompanist has been wide and varied, working with the Birralee Voices from Brisbane, a number of Toowoomba's top school choirs and some of the top musicians in the country. He has also worked as the accompanist for the Hal Leonard Reading Day with George Torbay for the last two years. Recently he has been coaching students at the Ballarat Arts Academy, as well as musically directing the 3rd year cabarets and the premier Australian performance of When Midnight Strikes. He has also been involved with cabarets at both the Ballarat Cabaret Festival and the Short + Sweet Cabaret Festival. CERISE DE GELDER – Lyricist/Librettist Cerise has had plays performed all around Australia, in the USA, New Zealand, Canada, India, Malaysia, Dubai and the UK, on stage, film, radio and TV. Since 2004 she has been a regular participant in Melbourne Writers’ Theatre seasons, Williamstown Little Theatre Play Six, Walking Into Bars Productions, Baggage Productions Madwomen Monologues, the Adelaide Fringe Festival, Flinders University Drama Centre, and Broken Mirror Productions. Full‐length productions have included A Narrow Time For Angels (The Storeroom), Searching For Comets and A Narrow Time For Angels ‐ The Musical (Midsumma Festival), The Umbrella Plays (Adelaide Fringe) and Just Douglas (Accidental Productions, Adelaide Fringe), a Melbourne Writers’ Theatre season at La Mama First George and Then Sally and The Cherry Umbrella and Beyond Sky There Be Dragons in the Melbourne Fringe at Revolt.
